    Cartridge Mounting Hardware

Recently purchased a AT-LP1240-USB Turntable. The headshell had been ripped apart by a thief in store. We found a new cartridge but now realize there is no way to secure it to headshell. What hardware do I need to secure the cartridge, and would I be better off buying new headshell? Does new headshell come with screws to secure cartridge?

    Answer:
Is the cartridge a standard half-inch mount type, a universal mount type, or a P-mount type cartridge?
The turntable requires either a half-inch mount or universal mount type. A universal type is really just a P-mount type with an adapter provided for mounting it to a standard half-inch headshell. If you have a P-mount type, a half-inch adapter can be purchased separately. Regardless of which type you have however, most cartridges include mounting hardware (bolts, washers and nuts).
If you were to purchase the AT-HS1 Headshell, it does include the lead wires and cartridge mounting hardware however.
