Used the 92cW four days without incident, had great sound, however the rigid tube construction snapped while cleaning it!

Does this mic require phantom power? If so, does Audio-technica supply it? Is the power pack that came with the mic equal appropriate phantom power?
        Thank you in advance
I know virtually nothing about this type of mic. Am old school Shure 57s and 58s.

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

All condenser element type microphones require some amount of power to function. When the mic is used in conjunction with a wireless system bodypack transmitter, this power is supplied by the transmitter and it is known as bias voltage. Bias voltage typically ranges somewhere between 2 and 9 volts. This is much different from phantom power, which is typically 12, 24 or 48 volts. Additionally, these voltages are carried over entirely different paths.

No. The "cW" code indicates the cable terminates with the 4 pin HRS connection for Audio-Technica wireless UniPak transmitters.

Is this mic suitable for singing using the Pro 501 wireless system or would the dynamic headset mic be preferable? Is it possible to use a Shure SM 35 headset? Any other recommendations?

          Thank you for your inquiry.

Yes, the PRO92cW-TH microphone will work with the Pro Series 5 wireless system. You may use any wireless microphone that is properly terminated with the 4 pin HRS connector used with Audio-Technica UniPak transmitters.

Does a new mic come with wind screens?
        Asked on 1/1/2014 by OleMan

        1 answer

        • A:

The PRO92cW does come with a windscreen and clip. However, should you want to purchase additional windscreens, the windscreen for the PRO92cW is the AT8158. If you have the PRO92cW-TH (beige), those windscreens are the AT8158-TH. The clip is the AT8442.

          Thanks!

      • Q:

Will this mic work with an ATW-T31 or ATW-T35 bodypack?

I have acquired three AT wireless systems for the creative arts academy I volunteer at. The ATW-T31 and ATW-T35 each have a lav mic. The third system uses an ATW-T310 body pack with no mic. I see that this should work with that body pack. I need to know if it will work with the other two before I go and buy three new mics.
