Like all VM cartridges, the VM520EB is equipped with dual magnets that are positioned to match the left and right channels in the stereo record groove for outstanding channel separation and extended frequency response. Nice cartridge for the price

Comments about Audio-Technica VM520EB Dual Moving Magnet Cartridge:

I have a vintage Pioneer turntable so I didn't want to spend on a cartridge more than what the turntable is worth. The turntable came with an original Pioneer MC5 cartridge, but knowing that it is hard to find a stylus replacement, I decide to replace the cartridge. I tried first the AT 95E, I wasn't impressed, the pioneer cartridge sound was more clear and balanced. A friend let me tried his Shure M97xe, I wasn't impressed either. Then, I decided to go for the VM 520EB. What a difference, the clarity and balance of sound was impressive. Great cartridge for the value.

        Too much high end emphasis

        from Sykesville MD

        Pros

          Cons

          • Poor Sound
          • Too tinny compared to my other phono cartridges

Comments about Audio-Technica VM520EB Dual Moving Magnet Cartridge:

Too much emphasis on the mid to high frequencies compared to my other phono pickups (Grado & Shure). Should have returned it but outside the 30 day window for returns. Not at good match for my at-lp120usb or SL-1500MK2. Purchase through Amazon head shell & cartridge combo. BTW, have lower the treble way down to be listenable

                A:

You may change just the actual stylus with the replacement VMN20EB.

Hello, I would like to know the weight of the VM520EB phonograph cartridge. I would be using it with a 2000 Technics SL-1200M3D. Have a great day.
