Comments about Audio-Technica AT100E VM Type (Dual Magnet) Stereo Cartridge:
I NEVER bought a cheap quality cartridge for any of my turntables (since the early 1970's). My choice cartridge brand was the Signet series (owned by Audio Technica). Now that Signet is no more, I replaced my 23 year old Signet AM10s with this AT100E model. The sound I get is as full and non-distorted as my high quality hand-assembled Signet cartridge was, and I'm very happy with it. Thanks Audio Technica, for keeping up the high quality of the old Signet series in your current cartridges!

Q:What is a VM cartridge? How is it different from MM?
Q:Can this cartridge be used for all three rpm's (78, 45, 33 1/3)? An advisor at crutchfield claims that it can, but I have always heard that 78 rpm requires different technology.
A:The AT100E may be used for 45 and 33s. A specific 78 RPM stylus must be used for playing 78 RPM records. You may find additional helpful information here:
Q:Hello I own the Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB
Q:Cartridge AT100E - what comes "in the box" with the cartridge, i.e. installation instructions, screws, tool, etc.?
Q:What is the stylus shape on AT100E?
Q:I have an older Panasonic direct drive record changer. My father originally bought it new in 1976.. Shortly after, somehow the stylus got damaged and needed replacement. My father opted for the much less expensive ceramic cartidge in lieu of the original magnetic original. I would like to switch it back to a magnetic cartridge. Do you have a recommendation for a replacement or would you need more information as to the model etc? It is made for a 1/2 inch mount.
A:Thank you for your inquiry. At the very least we will need the manufacturer and model of the turntable. Other useful information would be, cartridge mount type and tone arm mass. If you don't have that information we can usually find it using the make and model.
Q:I have a MCS 6602 direct drive turntable with a Micro-Acoustics f1 cartridge and MA 100e stylus. Will the AT100e replace the F1 Cartridge and stylus?
Q:Would you recommend this cartridge (AT100E) more than the AT95E cartridge on a AT-LP1240? I want a better sound but nothing to over powering to where it's bad. And does the AT100E play on 78?
Q:Hi, I have an older Dual 604 and would like to know if this cartridge will be a proper replacement? Also, a dumb one; does this cartridge include a stylus or needle? Not sure or correct name for it. Thanks, Scott
A:The Dual 604 takes a 1/2" mounted cartridge weighing between 4.5g - 10g. The AT100E weighs 6.5g, so it will work just fine!
Q:Is this cartridge suitable for use with the low mass arm of the Dual CS-505 turntable? Opinions seem to vary but concern the degree of compliance.
A:The AT100E is considered a high compliance cartridge. Compliance is 14 at 10 Hz.
