For use in the excellent AT-LP120USB turntable. Tracking at 3.5gms. is heavy with the AT95E cartridge. Would there be an installation problem with the AT311EP cartridge? Are the 95E and 311EP diamond stylus? Would the AT120E be a better choice to the AT311EP? Thank you

Answer:
Actually, the tracking force range of the AT95E is 1.5 to 2.5 grams. The AT311EP Universal Mount or the AT120E/T Half-inch Mount Cartridges could be used on the AT-LP120-USB Turntable as well. Of these 3 models, the AT120E/T offers the best performance. It edges out the AT311EP only slightly due to the use of a nude stylus. Both the 95E and the 311EP use a bonded stylus. The 120E/T and the 311EP track well at forces as light as 1.0 gram. All models use diamond styli. The 311EP is a great value!

The pin on one of the four sites of the AT311EP was bent upon arrival. Instead of trying to bend back which could have resulted in breaking the pin or causing feedback hum returned to J&R for replacement.
The color codes on the AT95E are different than the AT311EP. AT95E are Top right is green, Top left is Blue, Bottom right is red, bottom left is white for the connection to the tone arm. The AT311EP is Top right is red, left is green and the bottom right is white, bottom left is blue. Why is there a connection change from the AT95E? Thank you

Answer:
The mounting bracket is necessary. It is an adapter that allows the Cartridge (which is really a p-mount design) to be mounted to a half inch headshell.
The pin out is different. It complies with the p-mount type tone arm standard. (Not sure what they were thinking here!)
The AT95E is a half inch mount (headshell) design.
