    AT95E Dual Magnet Cartridge 4.7 5 3 3
great budget cartridge! An excellent all around phono cartridge that delivers on value! Clear, resolved definition, particularly in the highs, along with crisp and punchy bass. Jazz dynamics are superb, and blues play with soul and presence. This little cartridge is hard to beat, I doubt there is any competition at this price point. I have it set at ~2.1g VTF on a Technics SL-D2 and am very pleased with tracking results and sonic performance. Highly recommended! March 31, 2015
The change was so good I needed a new cartridge for my ATLP-120 Turntable so the first option was the atp-2 (which was the cartridge included in the TT), then I was told the ATLP-120 now comes with the AT95E, so after a couple of questions I decided to buy the AT95E, the design is still awful but the sound is crisp and brilliant, it manages the tracking error so good (much better than the ATP-2), I must say that the ATP-2 sounds louder, but louder doesn't mean better, great cartridge. Excellent value for money I ordered this cartirdge for a Pioneer PL400 that I just repaired. It had a sony shell already, so I ordered this cartridge based on reviews. I am happy to say it has never sounded so good. I really enjoyed listening to some of my earlier vinyl, and it performed extremely well. January 30, 2012

    Cartridge loading

I'm considering the purchase of a phone preamp that has selectable cartridge loading and the right hand switch is selectable between 50, 150 and 300pf. Which one should I use for the AT95E?

    Answer:
Cartridge loading is subjective — it changes the shape of the response of the cart and trying different loads won't do any damage. 50 has become the "standard." Virtually every phono stage in every consumer receiver has had this loading for the last 40 years. But that doesn't mean that's where all cartridges sound best. Just play around and use the one that sounds best to you. It'll likely either be the 50 or the 150.

    Answer:
The recommended load capacitance for the AT95E Cartridge is 100 to 200 pf. Since the 150 pf setting falls right in the middle of this range, your preamp should provide good results at this setting.

    Best cartridge for AL-AP120

Please, I have an AL-AP120 model and I would like to know what is the best cartridge only to hear vinyls. It´s really the AT95E or there any one better? I'm not a DJ, I hear my records at home. But I want the really best sound quality. What cartridge should I use?

    Answer:
Try the AT95E, It does not cost so much and it sounds great. You may spend more with another A.T. Cart but you will still have this one as a back up. Fact is I doubt you will go and spend any more after you try this Cart.

Thank you for your inquiry. Audio Technica does not manufacture a 78 stylus for this cartridge, but a company called LPGear does. You can check with them at LPGear.com.

    AT95E or ATP-2?

I bought a turntable (ATLP120) last year and it came with an ATP-2 cartridge, I recommended the turntable to a friend, and he bought one, but I noticed the cartridge was not the same, so I took a look at Amazon and I noticed that the ATLP120 now comes with the AT95E as I am always looking for a better sound quality, I want to know if the AT95E is better. Would you recommend me to change the ATP-2 for a AT95E?, what are the advantages? Are there any disadvantages? Is the AT95E cartridge an improvement? (Compared to the ATP-2 cartridge) Thank you very much

    Answer:
Generally speaking, the AT95E Cartridge is considered better (relative to the ATP-2XN) for casual use, because of its lighter vertical tracking force (1g - 2g). However, if you're a DJ, the ATP-2XN Cartridge will be better because of its heavier tracking force (3g - 5g).
