Good upgrade from budget original equipment

    By

    from MN

    Pros

    • Easy To Use
    • Good upgrade from basic cartridge

    Cons

    • Sits low on the turntable.

      Comments about Audio-Technica AT92ECD Cartridge:

The sound is good, better than the one that comes on the Denon DP300F, with good trackability. I found it with 1.2 g best. With 1.5g the cartridge sits to low and almost (sometimes if wobble or warp) touches the record, so I am not sure if this is ok with VT angle or with wearing sooner or in bad angle.

Thank you for your inquiry. From what I can find about your turntable, it appears to take a P Mount cartridge, so yes this cartridge will work.

          • Q:

I recently purchased a Pioneer PL-420 turntable that is need of a new cartridge. I just wanted to make sure that the AT92ECD would work ok. The current cartridge is a Pioneer PN-3MC (with a bent needle!!)
Also, does it come with new mounting screws? There are mounting screws on the current cartridge, but I'm not sure they are the correct length or size to accommodate the Audio-Technica cartridge.

            Thank you.

Thank you for your inquiry. I am have a hard time finding information about turntable and cartridge. I do know your cartridge is a moving coil, while our AT92ECD is a moving magnet. The photos of the cartridge appears to have an odd pin configuration. I suggest checking with LPgear.com. I'm quite certain they have a replacement stylus for your cartridge.

          • Q:

I have an older turntable with a P-mount tonearm. It originally came with a VectorScan VS225EP vector-aligned cartridge. I would like to replace the cartridge with one of your universal/P-mount products. Are any of those products "vector-aligned" or is that characteristic just for the 1/2" audiophile models?

Also, would there be a replacement styli that would fit my old cartridge?

            Thank you, Patrick
