  • Overview

The AT100E/HSB has been discontinued. Please see the VM520EB/H Headshell/Cartridge Combo Kit.

Includes AT100E Cartridge and AT-HS10BK Headshell.

Audio-Technica's AT100E VM stereo cartridge features a structure that improves performance of the vibration system, allowing the stylus perfect contact to the record surface. Additionally, it adopts a lossless Paratoroidal generator coil system to their cartridge bodies that results in peak generating efficiency. Stacking two cores makes further improvements to high frequency characteristics by separating the right-and-left channels from the center shield plate, resulting in reduced electrical cross talk. The VM type AT100-seriesí dual magnet vibration and generation systems have been highly praised all over the world and have become a long-selling series.

The lightweight aluminum AT-HS10BK is a universal Ĺ"-mount headshell for 4-pin turntable cartridges. Featuring an aluminum die-cast body, the AT-HS10BK is designed to keep vibration to the bare minimum. The finger lift is positioned near the front of headshell to enable precise placement of the stylus onto the record. The headshell is equipped with gold-plated lead wires for lossless signal transmission and comes with mounting screws. Fits the AT-LP120-USB and AT-LP1240-USB direct-drive turntables.

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes this would be a good upgrade for the LP120 as well as the AT120Eb and the AT440MLb. If you would like to try out a model from our new "VM" line of cartridges you may want to check out the following models:

Is it as easy as unscrewing my AT95E cartridge and replacing it with this AT100E cartridge/headshell? Do i need to calibrate anything besides the weight?

    • Q:

Does the head shell and cartridge come fully assembled? The reason I am ordering one is because the the turntable I purchased new (AT-LP1240-USB)did not come with a cartridge. I did not like the job I did with soldering the cartridge to the shell. Additionally can I order a higher end phono cable set up from Audio-Technica then supplied with the unit?

        A:

The headshell and cartridge are fully assembled. We do not offer a different phono cable for the turntable, some of our dealers may however. Be sure to use a low-capacitance type cable if you are using the turntable in the PHONO out mode. 100pF per foot or less would be appropriate.
