        Comments about Audio-Technica AT120Eb Cartridge:

This cartridge is perfect for replacement of all sorts of cartridges having worn needles. Most consumer turntables sitting in the attic that are going to be used again, will probably have a worn needle or cartridges that are no longer fit for use. Because the cantilever suspension is hardened. Just to stay on the safe side, replace this very important part of the turntable. That's where this exellent cart comes in. You can't go wrong but prior to install the product, check your turntable or have it checked if you're not sure how to do service your turntable. In most cases, this cartridge will outperform your existing cart, even if you replace that worn needle with a new one. For serious listening at reasonable prices. I have it in use for five years now, the needle is still in very good shape. Check your tone arm settings regularly, you will be rewarded with longevity of the needle, saving lots of cash that can be spend on records!

Thank you for your inquiry. I can find no technical information for your turntable, so I cannot make a recommendation. The AT120Eb is a medium compliance cartridge with a half inch mount.

            A:

Thank you for your inquiry. I am having difficulty finding the effective tone arm mass for the Dual 701. I have seen others use high compliance cartridges, but I believe the Medium compliance AT120Eb should work as well.

This is a diamond tipped cartridge, correct? Or nude? I can't seem to find anything to confirm. Also, how different is the sound off the AT120EB from the AT440MLB? Thanks!

          • Staff Reviewer

            A:

Thank you for your inquiry. It is a nude shank, not tipped (bonded). The AT440MLB is a microline stylus so it will have greater detail, better high frequency response and lower distortion.
