Awkward design
I was very satisfied both with the noise cancelling ability and the sound quality of these headsets. As comfortable a fit as they may be, they protrude in a ridiculous arc out from the ears arising from where the arms join the ear piece and the angle of which this is set. I looked at other headphones in their range after purchasing and this issue seems to be only in their noise cancelling products. I would strongly suggest trying on a pair and taking a look for yourself before purchasing. I will be replacing with an alternate brand simply because of how foolish they look.

Great form factor and sound, substandard build quality
These are my favorite headphones I've ever owned. Great noise cancellation for the size (I don't like huge cans).
However I had to have them replaced three times within the year that I bought them because of the sound cutting out in one channel after normal wear and tear on the cable. Now the year's up and they've conked out again so I'm going to have to shop for a new model, cause I simply can't do this anymore.
If you can get these for a good price, do so, but either be really gentle with them or just know that you're going to only have them for a little more than a year.

Don't waste your money!
I bought this headphones around 6 months ago through Amazon and while the quality of sound was great, the durability was nowhere close.
Now, after 6 months, the cord is broken from the inside and I have to either send it back for repair and pay for the shipment out of my pocket (they don't pay for the shipment back, even when the warranty is still on!!!), or throw the headphone out.
Such a disappointment

Unbelievably poor design.
These headphones sounds great! But how is that a company spends the time and effort to make great sounding headphones, and then makes the cord too short to reach from my hands to my headphones when I'm walking? (I'm 5'9"). Also, the battery pack is pretty much right at the end, making it so that I have to hold 2 things when walking with my iPhone. (Both the iPhone and the battery pack). Couldn't there be some extra slack so I could keep it in my pocket? I bought these online and unfortunately did not think it necessary to ensure that a headphones company would ensure that their cords are not too short to go for a walk while holding the phone and battery pack in your hand. Extremely disappointed.

Sounds great if they would stay on...
Bought these for X-mas 2011 and they worked great for the first couple of hours. After about an hour and a half of use they shut off. I replaced the battery but they still would not come back on immediately. They would only power back up after being off for about two hours.
Unfortunately, I was on a 10 week trip and couldn't return them to Amazon. I'm back home now and am trying to figure out how to send them back to Audio Technica. Very disappointed!

Better than Sony for sure!
I bought these for my wife as a Christmas gift. Ear buds are uncomfortable for her and she is a petite woman so the over the ear headphones didn't feel comfortable for her. So after a bit of research, I decided to try out the ANC1's. I am happy to say that I am not disappointed. They not only fit her well and are very comfortable, but they sound great to. They out perform my Sony's all day long. The sound quality is clear without distortion. The noise cancelling is very good. They are nicely constructed and seem to be very durable. They dont have a great low end, but the bass is solid and clear. Nice job guys!

Amazing quality for a good price
They may not have the logo of Bose but audio technica headphones can definitely be compared to Bose headphones. The audio sound fantastic and flawless while the noise canceling works professionally to cancel all unwanted noise. I highly recommend these headphones to all who want a spectacular audio expirece while still being agforadable and comfortable.

Easy and comfortable
I was hospitalized last summer after surgery. Every night on every single unit I was on, the staff sounded like they were having a party complete with strippers and adult beverages! I even called customer service one night at 11 pm from my room to complain. Realizing that there's no changing the system anytime soon, I bought a pair of the ATH-ANC1 QuietPoint® Active Noise-cancelling On-Ear Headphones. They are amazing. I haven't tested them in the hospital yet but will get the opportunity in less than a week when I return for a follow up surgery. But I have used them at the gym and they completely cancel the noise from the clanging free weights and the moronic conversations about how one must exercise that much harder after eating a cookie or friends with benefits! I plan to travel back to Abu Dhabi in Feb and there are always a surprising number of screaming infants on board making it impossible to sleep even with the audio headphones provided. The review I read on the internet said that these were top rated by frequent fliers for comfort, size, and effectiveness. And the price point is astonishing! I started my search with Bose which range from $250-$350. Amazon carries these for just under $80 with free shipping.
Great value for an excellent product.
