    ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones (with coiled cable) 4.8 5 77 77
Great Value, but bit poor durability I love this headphones, one of my best purchases of my life. before I found this brand I tried so many different brands, but they were too pricy, but never met my satisfaction. all too exaggerated. this pair has excellently balanced sound, great quality design, although I think it is less durable, for everyday careful people unlike me, would find this very solid durable product. price is just unbelievably inexpensive, such a well made product. best headphone brand out there. though i had trouble receiving feedbacks and technical support,(could not get mine fixed) mine are still usable and great. Really nice for a long run. really makes you appreciate the sound that has been computerised and unnatural like everyday pop songs and composing, pretty much everything, these brings out all the details even from low quality music that's been put on your devices. April 4, 2015
These headphones are second to none. I love these headphones. The sound coming through these headphones are amazing. They are comfortable, so much so that one can listen to music for long periods. I like the way the ear pieces swivel and easily adjust to ones head. I have the long straight cord version, so I can listen from any location in the living room. These are some serious headphones, very pleased. March 27, 2015
Does what it is supposed to do. I use the ATH M50 in my home studio for tracking & some mixing when I need to check things closer than my studio monitors allow. The response of these headphones is pretty neutral which translates well for my mixes. Solid build & comfortable for long periods of use. Great product. March 24, 2015
Love These!!! I have had these for over a year now and they sound Amazing! I use them for everyday listening and monitors while playing bass on stage. They work great for both. I also did the removable cable mod and I use these all the time. They are so comfortable and I forget they are even on my head. I would recommend these to anyone. Definitely the best in their price range. March 23, 2015
These headphones are spectacular I've had lots of experiences with "studio quality" headphones before, but I have to say that these are probably the absolute best example, and it's now my daily driver as an audio device. The sound quality is spectacular, and I can definitely wear them for hours without getting too much discomfort, though after about six hours of straight wearing, it's hard to ask for it to be perfectly comfortable. The build quality worries me only a slight bit, but that's only because I'm really hard on my stuff, and worried I might one day break it. It seems the product itself lacks a secure structural integrity, but if you're careful with them, it shouldn't be much of an issue. Overall, I'd highly recommend these to anyone looking for a superior sound solution, as these are the best example I can think of, and I've been using them for a little more than a year now. No issues whatsoever. March 22, 2015
Phenomenal headphones The ATH-M50's are honestly the best headphones I have ever owned. They are probably one of the best headphones you can find at this price. They have great sound quality which has allowed me hear parts of songs that went unnoticed on other headphones/ speakers. They are extremely durable and the leather has stayed intact after much wear. It is clear Audio-Technica made sure these would last a long time since the materials are strong and flexible. The little features such as the spring at the bottom of the cord to keep it from breaking show that they will surpass common headphone problems. However, it should be noted that these are studio headphones so they accommodate studio-life more than everyday life. The cord is long and it makes them less portable. They are also bigger than most everyday headphones so they are hard to store in a bag. Besides that I have had nothing but good things to say about these amazing headphones. They have made me an Audio-Technica fan for life! March 18, 2015
These headphones are hands down, the best for its price point! I have a pair of these in conjunction with my Soundblaster Z, sound card by Creative. These headphones sound absolutely amazing, at all levels, the sealed drivers on this pair makes sure that there is no bass being over done or too little. I absolutely love these! I've had them for a little over one year now, and they're still performing like day one! March 17, 2015
Best all-around headphones I own several pairs of pro-quality headphones, and I have found these to be the most flexible, and best all-around. They are accurate without being clinical, or harsh. They are full without being muddy. Equally equipped for studio use or long listening sessions, there's nothing these cans can't handle. The around-the-ear, closed-back design is comfortable for as long as you want to listen, and blocks enough external noise for use in public. The closed-back also prevents your audio from annoying the person beside you on the bus or plane. I will say that I have headphones with a more open top end, and others with punchier bass, but these have a very solid signature that suits any style of music I've thrown at them. March 15, 2015

    Answer:
I would only recommend these for home, or for any purpose that doesn't require you to move. The cord is 11' long, and you would have to roll it up if you wanted to walk around with your ipod hooked up to it. Also, you would have to put them in your book bag, and wrap them up in bubble wrap or something to keep them from getting damaged. These are studiophones, although you could possibly use them for other purposes as well. Personally, I use them at home (for listening to and recording music).

    Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. We do not spec this because it is a bogus measurement. These headphones do not offer active noise cancelation. The degree of passive noise isolation is based on the frequency content of noise. When a spec says 32 dB of isolation the question is "at what frequency?" It would be very easy to pick a frequency that gives a really good number and then post that as its total noise isolation spec, but that would not be correct so we choose to not to do it.

I've read on several websites that some headphones with different impedances require a headphone amplifier separate from an iPod or other mp3 player to function best is this true?

If so how where would I find one?

you could get a small headphone amplifier to help any headphones reach their full potencial. Like the Fiio E3 for $10. I got one for a different pair of headphones. But they even help with my JVC Marshmallow earbuds.

if it goes around it will isolate rigth? i dont want to much noise getting on my ear while listening music (in fact i wont be in very noisy places, but not in very quiet places), but i cant pay for a noise cancelling, i also have read that in the description of the ath-m50wh, that they isolate, but in the description of the m50 it does not say that, and they look alike (sorry for the bad english)

The cushion does go around your ear (Unless you have exceptionally large ears) The only downside with them in my opinion, is they aren't deep enough, and the corners of my ears bend and rub up against the drivers as I wear them. Otherwise, fit, comfort, and sound is excellent.

It must depend on your ears. They catch the top and bottom of my ears but my old Sennhiser HD 520 II phones did not. They are still not that uncomfortable but it would help if we could buy larger ear pads.

These block noise very well, I had active noise cancelling before (PXC-300) and these are comparable. The cushion goes around your ear. I use mine in the metro and all I hear is a low rumble in the background but I cant hear anyone or anything else. Great sound!
