Great overall product
I've had this headset for about half a year, and I'm pleased with the product. The sound is amazing, the phones fold up, and the ambient noise cancellation is very effective. The only complaints I have are to make the earcups larger, tuck in the cables that stick out at the joints, and make it so that when you wear it around your neck, it doesn't suffocate you.
But a great product. Would buy again.

pretty good set..
I have owned a pair of JVC model HA-D990 since 1993ish. at the time they were comparable to the Sony V-6 which was legend at the time. got them close out half the price (around 50.00) the JVC's finally broke down the ATH-M35's pretty good so far but noticed the frequency range and sensitive level of the JVCs tended to meet my needs better. but-- as the break-in period coming these headphones getting louder and better.

Couldn't ask for better in this price range
I've been extensively using the ATH-M35 headphones for about a year now, and I've been nothing but pleased with everything about them. I wear them for hours (6 to 8) at a time, and comfort is never an issue. 10/10. I primarily listen to reggae music on my pair, and in so doing I've noticed that the lows are tight, rich, and without any of the fatiguing muddiness I've noticed in other headphones in the past. Highs such as strings, horns, and snare drums come in crisp and clear, as they should. I've had no issue with the volume on my ATH-35s; any new sound card on a modern day computer should has plenty of options to drive the sound to the user's preferred level. My only gripe is that they didn't come with a replacement set of earpads, but these are easily attainable through Audio Technica's website.
I would recommend these to anyone looking for a sub 200 dollar pair of headphones that will, with care, last them a good many years and faithfully reproduce any sound sent to them.
Verdict: Buy. A fantastic product in all respects.

A great product at a good price.
I brought these headphones after comparing them with Sennheiser HD 448 ( no offense just my preference Sennheiser is a goof Company) the ATH-M35's suited me more and boy was i right about them. The un-boxing happened rather quietly and i was amazed at the quality of the carrying pouch. I had intended to use the headphones for casual listening and also carrying them around but with 11 feet cable that may be quite a task and using these head phones on iPods doesn't do justice to its capabilities. For the Bass heads the start of point of the headphones is very low and crisp bass as it goes through the break in period you will notice a rich and fuller bass. The mids and lows on this headphones are just amazing. I am no audiophile so i better end my review here as these just sound amazing to me.
