        Comments about Audio-Technica ATH-CKP500 SonicSport In-ear Headphones:

Most active earbuds have designs which use the outside of the ear for retention, which can be uncomfortable for long-term wear-- especially when wearing glasses or sunglasses. These have a unique silicone cushion that secures the bud into the ear by locking into the natural contours of the outer ear. Sound quality is reference-perfect to my ears; neither too much treble nor too much bass-- nice, neutral, flat. The two-piece quick-disconnect cord is a great feature as well. The *only* criticism I have for these is that the outer jacket of the cable transmits a bit of vibration into the ear whenever it rubs against clothing. All earbud sets do this to some degree, but for these it seems a bit more pronounced. Since buying my first set I have purchased several more both as spares and for family and friends who are looking for a quality set of sports earbuds.

The ATH-M50x headphones are no different than the original ATH-M50 headphones except for the addition of a detachable cable.

I took off the silicone tip so I could put a new one on, and now I can't fit any of the tips on. The opening is way too too small. Is there some trick to putting the tips on the earbud that I am missing?

        • Q:

Do you offer a shorter extension cord? Something 6" to 1' shorter?

Your product team clearly designed the CKP500 for either arm band users or people who put their device in their pocket, but it doesn't work well for people who carry their device on their hip.

You may use any third party 3.5mm extension cable to connect the standard 3.5mm connection from the headphones to your source.

Length of cord to earbuds not equal??

I bought a pair of ATH-CKP500RD and the right ear bud cord is a foot longer than the left ear bud cord and it puts disproportionate weight on my left ear. Is that a flaw or how they are made? Thanks.

The longer one is designed to go around the back of your neck to your right ear.

This can be a difficult question to answer, because every one has different sized ears. These headphones are designed to ergonomically fit in most adult-sized ears. If you believe your ears are of comparable size, then these earbuds should work for you!

            Thanks!

          New Version Soon?

Hello, I had recently found out about these headphones while searching for sports earbuds. I really like the design, and would normally choose your headphones over others, but the lack of an in-line mic and remote make it a tough decision. I was just wondering if you're planning on releasing a version with a mic and remote, also maybe increasing their water resistance, as I'm still looking for headphones to swim with. Adding this would easily make these some of the best sports earbuds out there, that I wouldn't hesitate to buy.
