    Best Uses

      Comments about Audio-Technica ATH-ES500BK Closed-back Dynamic Headphones:

I just buy it few days ago, and very interested because the price is not really breaking my bank, and I'm also big fan of Audio Technica's headphone. because this headphone not have any review on internet, I decided to give a go.

out of the box, this headphone is produce murky, muddy bass output, but the treble and details is pronounced when i try it on the spot, as the box say that this unit designed with CCAW bobbin-wound voice coils, which able to produce detailed sound. The bass is very murky for first minute use, so is the best to burn-in this unit for few hours, and mine ones already burned for 6 hours.

after burn-in approximately about 6 hours, I get the nature of this headphone. For the bass, is maybe ones of finest, the reproduction is very clear and powerful without over powering, which is my personal's favorite taste. When I take play with few song that have mid-tempo and playful bass, I found that this headphone able produce abundant details within the bass, but songs that have too much playful bass is made the details become a little bit muddy. But for people who love big deep bass, this one maybe not the player, but still this guy able bring every character of different bass tone, from deep to dry and high kick bass.

But the true nature of this headphone, is showed when I playing Cecil Corbel - The Neglected Garden, which is very make me fall in-love with this headphone. The tone is warm yet fine, the details that able to produce is TOTALY impressive, even you can hear water, harp, wind chime, birds, or I can say EVERYTHING that inside that songs, with very clear tonality and depth. So I can take simple conclusion that this headphone is perfect for user who enjoy songs with abundant tone and details.

The build and comfort level of this headphone is perfect, but for person who have bigger ear, maybe should test it first. but it's over head band height adjustment. I tried it to wear it and feels so comfortable for hours.

So, should I recommend this to everyone? YES!!! and it's cheaper than his big brother, ATH-ES700, which producing more amazing sound. but if you have kinda tight budget, this one is already perfect.
