First rate sound. Uncomfortable pressure on ear lobe. Great audiophile sound. Circular on-ear cushions put pressure on ear lobes - which can become uncomfortable during prolonged use. Would have preferred over-ear design to fully enclose ear. December 12, 2013

What headphone Amp do you recommend?

Does A-T make an amp to pair with this phone? If not, can you make a specific recommendation, or even offer some general pointers?

I've already bought the ATH-A900X, and was extremely pleased, and now I want to take that big leap into the audiophile tier, but I don't want to sacrifice game performance. Thanks in advance!

    Answer:
Both the ATH-A900x and the ATH-W1000x are Audiophile headphones. If you were pleased with the imaging of the A900x, then you will likely be pleased with the imaging of the W1000x. Performance will not be sacrificed.

Some of the improvements with the W1000x are better build materials that result in better/smoother frequency response and intelligibility, and greater comfort. However, the W1000x would require a headphone adapter to convert to a 3.5mm (aka 1/8th inch) connection.

    Thanks!
