First rate sound. Uncomfortable pressure on ear lobe.

    Pros

    • Casual Listening

    Cons

    • uncomfortable on-ear cushioning.

    Best Uses

Great audiophile sound. Circular on-ear cushions put pressure on ear lobes - which can become uncomfortable during prolonged use. Would have preferred over-ear design to fully enclose ear.

      • Q:

¿Does these headphones perform well with 3D sound positioning in video games?

I've already bought the ATH-A900X, and was extremely pleased, and now I want to take that big leap into the audiophile tier, but I don't want to sacrifice game performance. Thanks in advance!
Asked on 8/14/2013 by JCRG from Mexico

        • A:

Both the ATH-A900x and the ATH-W1000x are Audiophile headphones. If you were pleased with the imaging of the A900x, then you will likely be pleased with the imaging of the W1000x. Performance will not be sacrificed.

Some of the improvements with the W1000x are better build materials that result in better/smoother frequency response and intelligibility, and greater comfort. However, the W1000x would require a headphone adapter to convert to a 3.5mm (aka 1/8th inch) connection.

          Thanks!

What headphone Amp do you recommend?

Does A-T make an amp to pair with this phone? If not, can you make a specific recommendation, or even offer some general pointers?

Thank you for your inquiry. We really have no recomendation for a headphone amp. There are just too many to choose from.
