Comments about Audio-Technica ATH-CKS1000 Solid Bass In-ear Headphones:

These earbuds are the real deal when it comes to clean and clear sound. They indeed deliver solid bass but never overpower the rest of the frequency ranges. The tips provided are the comfiest of any I have worn before. I listen to a lot of electronic dance music including Trance and wow..never have I experienced such amazing clarity and heavenly boom in my ears before. The bass never seems to muddy up any of the music. Vocals and all instruments come through clear and concise...for example, Imogen Heap's song "Hide and Seek", her vocals, they sound alive, almost as if though she is singing right in front of you! Sarah McLachlan's voice and music also sound amazing with the CKS 1000. Practically everything I throw at them sounds superb! I myself produce music and it is always a joy to listen back to my tracks on these "little" earbuds. They are a great pair to test my mixing skills as they let me know if bass is too much or too little. After almost 2 years of usage, the headphones still perform as well as when I first purchased them. Prior to purchasing this model of earbuds I had owned a pair of the CKM 50's which I loved so much, the reason why I decided to really upgrade; given the fact that I knew Audio Technica would not disappoint with these (cks1000). I now always recommend AT products to friends and family as they are not only such great products but at all price points, customers are sure to get great bang for their buck!

          Which cable should I use.

I just got my new ath cks1000, and there are extension cable included, The one with the microphone seems to produce better sound than the one without it, However on the box, the one with the microphone has only frequency response 50 -16000 Hz, I don`t answer call using this headphone anyway. So I would like to ask ATH which cable is better for listening to Music.

Will the 1000 model earbuds fully function on my Samsung galaxy note 3? I would like to be able to answer calls and adjust music volume using sites like Milk powered by Slacker.

The ATH-CKS1000 will work with your Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The headphones come equipped with two 2.6 ft. (0.8 m) extension cables, one with an inline mic, playback-and-volume controls for smartphones and other compatible devices. The In-Line volume control is simply a volume slider, that will adjust a minimum and maximum volume. The button controls play/pause functions, while a double-tap will skip the track forward.

          Difference between ATH-CKS1000 and ATH-CKS99?

Hi, what's the different between the 2 models? Apart from the added features of microphone and volume control for the CKS1000. There's nothing else on the website pages to tell them apart. Thank you.

          • A:

The CKS1000 have an extended frequency response, and rigid aluminum parts to eliminate unwanted vibrations to deliver a more clear sound, comparatively. Also, you are correct that the CKS1000 have a communications microphone for use with compatible devices, mostly smart phones.

            Thanks!
