      Comments about Audio-Technica ATH-M2X Mid-size Open-back Dynamic Stereo Headphones:

As soon as I saw these, and put them on, I was like, they ain't gonna be loud or efficient. But, I was dead wrong! These are everything you asked for in a headphone, durability, practicality, sound stage, fun, loud, clean, and the list goes on. But all in all, I tried all other headphone companies, returning them again and again. This one, on the other hand, is a genuine keeper!

          Comments about Audio-Technica ATH-M2X Mid-size Open-back Dynamic Stereo Headphones:

Bought these headphones to practice my electric guitar, since they came with a 1/4" connector that plugged into my amp. The sound quality is very precise and handles as much volume as my ears can tolerate.

The dynamic range and spaciousness of these phones are amazing. I was very surprised to hear how smooth the treble and bass tone was......the cushioning is extra soft, and the price is right! You cannot go wrong with these at this price!

By "Open Back" do you mean it lets in ambient sound?

I want to hear surrounding sounds while listening. I need to be connected to the world for warnings on trails, etc.

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the ear cup is not enclosed so it does let in ambient sound.

                Spectrum analysis/graph

I was wondering if there was a spectrum analysis graph for these headphones. I'm not sure if that is the correct term for what I'm looking for, but I basically want to see how these are "EQ'd". Are they flat, mid-heavy, Bass-heavy, Treble-heavy, etc.?

                Thanks

              • Q:

Those look exacly like Onkyo DP 380 from 25 years ago.

Are they as good as Onkyo protoplast ?
Seriously I'm a happy owner of DP380 for few years now and I have never found headphones which would rank even close to them in terms of sound quality and durability; given the size and mobility.
I will buy ATH - M2X just to check if the ear cups fit to my DP380... (25years)
Could somebody , please tell me the size of those headphones ?
Also I'm very interested if Audiotechnika has been working together with Onkyo on this one !

                  Thank you for your inquiry.

Audio-Technica did not manufacture the Onkyo DP380. They do look a little similar, but there are some distinct differences (M2X have round earcups, DP380 have oval). Additionally, there would be no way for us to test which one "sound better". The only published specifications can be found on the ATH-M2X product page, listed below:

Does this product have replacement ear piece covers for multiple users?

Use is for training computers where audio is also use. Headsets are needed to keep the program noise from disturbing surrounding people.
