At Rocky Mountain Audio Fest (RMAF) 2016, Audio-Technica will be demonstrating a selection of its high-end headphones and other products, all embodying the company’s commitment to “A Higher Level of Listening.” The ATH-MSR7NC High-Resolution Headphones with Active Noise-Cancellation, AT-HA5050H Hybrid Headphone Amplifier, ATH-A2000Z and ATH-A1000Z Art Monitor® Closed-Back Dynamic Headphones will be featured at RMAF in the CanJam area at the Denver Marriott Tech Center, Denver, CO (October 7 – 9, 2016). In addition, the AT-ART1000 Direct Power Stereo Moving Coil Cartridge will be demonstrated in the Joseph Audio booth in the POD Pavilion.
The Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7NC builds upon the rave-reviewed ATH-MSR7 with the addition of active noise-cancellation. The Hi-Res Audio ATH-MSR7NC (US$299.00) is designed to deliver the highest level of accuracy and musical realism from high-resolution audio and other top-quality source material. These smartphone-compatible headphones features Audio-Technica’s 45 mm True Motion drivers, which employ exclusive lightweight, responsive voice coils and diaphragms. In addition, the ATH-MSR7NC utilizes two acoustic resistors that provide extended accurate bass and improved high frequencies.
The ATH-MSR7NC delivers Hi-Res Audio reproduction in both passive and active-noise-cancelling modes and an internal rechargeable battery powers the ATH-MSR7NC’s noise-cancelling function for up to 30 hours. The headphone’s memory foam earpads and headband, and flexible design ensure a comfortable fit for any wearer.
Audio-Technica’s AT-HA5050H Hybrid Headphone Amplifier is an ultimate-quality hybrid tube preamp/transistor Class A power amp unit designed to bring out the best from every headphone. This US$5,999.00 headphone amp features eight headphone jacks with four different output impedances, analog (RCA and balanced XLR) digital (S/PDIF and USB) inputs compatible up to PCM 32-bit/384 kHz and DSD128, premium internal parts and more. Its large volume knob and classic analog VU meters add a touch of retro styling and provide precise headphone volume control.
The ATH-A2000Z closed-back over-ear headphones (US$649.00) offer an immersive Hi-Res Audio listening experience with clear, natural vocal and instrumental reproduction, precise imaging and superlative dynamic range. Its hand-assembled drivers employ a top-quality German Permendur magnetic circuit for exceptional efficiency and OFC-7N copper bobbin-wound voice coils for pure, detailed signal transmission. The driver housings are crafted from pure titanium with magnesium-alloy baffles to keep unwanted resonances that could blur the sound to an absolute minimum.
The ATH-A1000Z (US$399.00) includes many of the key driver elements of the ATH-A2000Z such as OFC-7N copper voice coils and a pure iron yoke, for exceptional transient response, enclosed in lightweight aluminum housings with magnesium-alloy baffles. Like the ATH-A2000Z, the Hi-Res Audio ATH-A1000Z features stitched, ergonomic earpads for superior comfort and sound isolation and comes with a 9.8 ft. (3.0 m) OFC-6N dual-sided, four-core cable that ensures maximum signal transmission and high durability.
The all-new AT-ART1000 Direct Power Stereo Moving Coil Cartridge (US$4,999.00) features an innovative design that places its dual moving coils directly on top of the stylus tip rather than behind the cantilever as in conventional designs, enabling the cartridge to deliver purer, more accurate record playback with stunning fidelity, musical detail and transient response.
Each of the AT-ART1000’s two moving coils is made of 20 µm diameter PCOCC (Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting) wire, wound eight turns to form two loops only 0.99 mm in diameter. The AT-ART1000 employs a high-performance line-contact stylus and solid boron cantilever for superb accuracy in tracking the record groove. The cartridge’s titanium base, aluminum housing and hard plastic cover operate in conjunction to disperse any internal resonances that would otherwise affect sound quality.
