Audio-Technica UK Hands Over Sabine Distribution

Leeds 08-12-2008 Audio-Technica UK has announced that from 31 August 2008 it will no longer act as UK distributor for Sabine products.

The decision is due in part to the long-term strategies of both brands leading to a conflict of interest as Florida-based Sabine becomes more active in the microphone market, particularly in the wireless and installation sectors.

Commenting on the situation, Audio-Technica Europe president Richard Garrido further explained, “it was a nice adventure to work with a company as creative as Sabine – one that was continually introducing products very different than the ‘me too’ offerings in the marketplace. But the last year of collaboration showed that we have fundamentally different engineering convictions about how to overcome the difficulties of the ‘busy spectrum’ for professional wireless equipment.”

With effect from 1 September 2008, Sabine’s UK distribution passes to CUK Audio, Unit 4, Davieland Court, Ibrox Business Park, Glasgow G51 2JR. Stuart Thomson, Managing Director of CUK, commented, “We are pleased to be appointed as the new distributor for Sabine. The brand has been professionally distributed by AT and the smooth handover that they are assisting with will ensure continuity for Sabine customers. With its quality and innovation, Sabine will be a key brand in our portfolio and customers can be assured of that it will continue to be backed by the highest level of service and support”.
