The bands kept twisting, and it wasn't clear which end the mic should be inserted from. There are no instructions in the box for the shock mount use, which I feel is a huge oversight. Please help, or send me a link to something that will.

Thank you for your inquiry. The bottom of the microphone should slide into the top of the shock mount. You need to spread the bands apart with one hand and then slide the microphone in between the bands. It may be easier to place the mount on the mic stand first and then proceed with placing the microphone into the mount.
