Will this work with my other-brand transmitter that has a 3.5mm input port?

        • Q:

Does this microphone work well with speech recognition software?

We are using this microphone with Dragon Naturally Speaking speech recognition software. Wondering if it would help to add a Speechmatic Speechware USB Multi-Adapter Soundcard.
          Asked on 1/26/2014 by SoundSeeker

          1 answer

          • A:

The microphone itself will work well with speech-recognition software. HOWEVER, being that the BP894/BP894-TH is a wired condenser microphone, it will also require its included power-module (AT8539) and will require 11-52v of Phantom Power. To use with a USB input of a computer, an XLR-to-USB adapter, such as the Blue Icicle or the Shure X2U, will also be required. Either of those products will supply the required 11-52v of Phantom Power for operation when used with the included AT8539 power-module.

          Popping sound

We've had several reports of significant popping sounds with this microphone. I've opened the end that connects to the transmitter and do not see any obvious wire breaks, but the end at the ear piece is completely enclosed and inaccessible. Are broken wires the likely problem or should I be looking for something else?
Asked on 4/8/2013 by RodB from Mitchell, SD

          1 answer

          • A:

Thank you for your inquiry. Most often popping occurs due to Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) with the wireless system from an external source. Static electricity can also cause this. Worn or improperly milled Hirose connectors, although not likely could cause popping. If your issue is with the connector on the belt pack transmitter or the microphone, please contact our service department at 330-686-2600 option 4 and the will help with this.

        • Q:

Is there an adapter to plug this into a ATW-T210?

A BP892cT4-TH was purchased to replace the microphone we currently use in our church, which plugs into a audio-technica ATW-T210 belt pack. Upon receipt of this mic we noticed the pin outs are different. Is there an adapter we could use or should we consider another option?

          Thank you..
Asked on 5/10/2012 by Todd from Okinawa Prefecture, Japan

          1 answer

          • A:

Thank you for your inquiry. The BP892cT4-TH is designed for use with a Shure wireless system. There is no adapter to use this on an AT wireless system. The version that works with an Audio-Technica wireless system is the BP892cW-TH. You may want to check with your place of purchase to see if they can swap this for you.

        • Q:

is it (BP892cW) compatible with EVERY A-T wireless transmitter pack?

Microphone Madness sells an earworn mic terminated for AT beltpaks, but there are 2 different wiring schemes, and it is dependant upon which unipak system (which wiring they supply). I once tried to use an earset mic (I forgot which brand) with an AT1400 series and it didn't work, which took me by surprise. Are the AT BP892cW's compatible with EVERY A-T wireless beltpack?

          • A:

Thank you for your inquiry. The BP892cW is designed to work with all of our current wireless systems except fro the Pro88W and the ATR288W. Of our older systems it will work with all but the 1000 series and the 500 series.

          Recommended Wireless Receiver

Hi, what Audio-Technica wireless bodypack transmitter/receiver combo do you suggest to connect this microphone wirelessly to a mixer. Thanks.

          • A:

Thank you for your inquiry. The BP892-TH is a wired microphone. The wireless version is BP892cW-TH. Any of our professional wireless body pack systems will work with this microphone. Our most popular system is the ATW-3110B. Also, the microphone and the wireless system can be purchased as a package (ATW-3192B). Please see the below link.
