The microphone offers exceptionally natural reproduction. Internal shock mounting minimizes handling/cable noise. The microphone’s omnidirectional polar pattern is ideal for reproduction of surrounding ambience. Its rugged housing with hardened-steel grille stands up to field use. Also available as the shorter-length AT8004 (5.93” long).

Why do I hear a strange high pitch noise after using the microphone?

I was testing out the AT8004L Omni-directional dynamic interview microphone with 60D DSLR. After I recorded a short clip of video, I played back and heard a strange high pitch noise on the background.

    • Q:

Is this the microphone that Elvis is shown using in many of his performances?

If so, is this microphone the AT8004L both for live vocal as well as for studio recording?

      • A:

Thank you for your inquiry. This is not the microphone that Elvis used because it has only been available for a couple of years. I would not use this mic for live vocals because it is an omni directional microphone and would pick up too much stage noise.
