To celebrate Audio-Technica’s 50th Anniversary, A-T has introduced a special limited edition AT4050/LE Anniversary Microphone in a silver-colored metallic finish with blue accents. A unique serial number is etched on the surface of each AT4050/LE. The limited edition offering comes with a beautifully crafted wooden carrying case.

With three switchable polar patterns, the large-diaphragm Audio-Technica AT4050/LE exhibits a remarkable combination of qualities: high-SPL capability with transparent and airy uppers/mids complemented by rich low-end qualities. 4050 anniversary. Same mic?

Hi, I noticed that the4050/LE is showing up on websites for two hundred dollars less than the standard version. Is it the same mic? Same circuit? Same grade parts? There is little information about it so I wanted to make sure it wasn't an inferior product. I've heard the standard and like it, but if they're the same I'll get t the less expensive one. Thanks.

    Answer:
The AT4050/LE is the anniversary edition of the AT4050. They are the exact same microphone, except for the color. Also, the quality control is so tight on the 40 Series, that virtually every pair of same-model 40 Series is a matched pair. In other words, if you purchase two AT4050’s from different vendors, they will still be technically considered a matched pair. Again, this is due to the incredibly strict quality-control of Audio-Technica 40 Series microphones.

    Thanks!
