ATM25/LE LIMITED EDITION Hypercardioid Dynamic Instrument Microphone
To celebrate Audio-Technica’s 50th Anniversary, A-T has brought back its classic ATM25, offering it exclusively as a limited edition ATM25/LE Anniversary Microphone in a silver-colored metallic finish with blue accents. A unique serial number is etched on the surface of each limited edition ATM25/LE.A natural with high SPLs, the ATM25/LE hypercardioid dynamic is tailored for kick drum, percussion, brass and other highly dynamic instruments. Its rich, warm low-frequency response gives the microphone excellent presence. The microphone is equipped with a rare earth magnet and a tight hypercardioid polar pattern. It includes an integral stand clamp to provide secure mounting.

This is exactly what I wish were available as a clip-on for a trombone mic. I realize that I will have to use XLR cable, but that piece I have already figured out. The only question is, can you supply a clip-on mount for a brass bell?

The ATM25/LE weighs 13.8 oz. Add the weight of an XLR cable, and the weight would easily exceed 1lb. This is why there is no instrument mount for the ATM25. However, there is a much better microphone for this application. The ATM350 is designed for use as a clip-on instrument microphone. It is a durable microphone, and only weights 0.5 oz. (that's correct, a half an ounce) and comes highly recommended for trombone use. If you would still like to use the ATM25, it will definitely need to go on a microphone stand.Age:Â 25-34
