    Featuring Audio-Technica’s UniLine® line cardioid element, the U853RU UniLine condenser hanging microphone is equipped with UniGuard® innovations that offer unsurpassed immunity from radio frequency interference. The phantom-powered microphone accepts interchangeable elements, available in cardioid, hypercardioid, omnidirectional and UniLine® line-cardioid polar patterns. Its 80 Hz low-cut UniSteep® filter reduces pickup of low-frequency ambient noise.

    Answer: 
    Fidelity on both is very good, the pick up pattern is what differentiates the two. The U853RU uses our UniLine type element which provides a very narrow, very directional pick up pattern (a 90 degree acceptance angle). The ES933 uses the more common cardioid type element which provides a broader directional pick up pattern (a 120 degree acceptance angle). The U853RU will provide better "spot miking" with less pick up of sound arriving at the sides of it and it has a greater working distance than a cardioid type element microphone. Please note that the U853RU comes with an attached 25 foot long cable and that the ES933 comes with an attached 50 foot cable.
