Comments about Audio-Technica AT2020USB+ Cardioid Condenser USB Microphone:

Bob is right it does not work with Windows 10 (or 8). There are hundreds of complaints about this issue. Did AudioTechnica complain about this to Microsoft? The issue is with most USB microphones. AT should require sellers to point out this fact.

Since power is carried over the USB Bus Power, extensions are not recommended. You may try an Active repeater which may go a longer distance. The USB connection is USB2.

The AT2020USB+ microphone may be used with any standard 5/8-27" threaded microphone stand. You may go to your local music store and find a microphone stand.

I've had this mic since February and used it semi-occasionally, when going to use it last night I noticed that any sound over a certain (fairly low) volume becomes extremely distorted. I have a feeling though I could have damaged it by recording distorted guitar through an amplifier. Is this something that could have been caused by louder inputs? I wasn't exactly blasting at it but if I'm going to get a new one I want to know if I should look at a different model or maybe it's just current user error?
