      "stereo" microphone

      Hi
I understand Pro 24-CM is a stereo microphone, and it doesn't work with any smart devices that comes with a combo jack, one single 3.5mm jack for audio input and output. However, can you confirm if it works with the older PCs that come with 2 separate 3.5mm jacks, one for audio input and the other output.
      Thanks.

      • A:

Thank you for your inquiry. The microphone will work with any 3.5 mm stereo, microphone level input.

    • Q:

Is the PRo 24CM compatable with the Panosonic camcorderHC-x900
Asked on 8/15/2013 by millsy from Preston UK

      1 answer

      • A:

The PRO24-CM is designed for cameras that have a 3.5mm (aka 1/8th inch) stereo microphone input. Additionally, the PRO24-CM would need to mount to the camera via a standard accessory-shoe.

In the "Interface" specifications of the Panasonic HC-X900, it says that it supports a "Microphone (stereo mini) = Yes". Also, "Accessory Shoe = Yes".

Therefore, the PRO24-CM should be compatible with the Panasonic.

However, to be absolutely certain, it is recommended that you contact Panasonic.

      • A:

Thank you for your inquiry. According to the specs for this camera it has:

Audio input: Stereo mini-pin jack (3.5-mm diameter)

If this is microphone level input the mic should work with it.

Does Pro 24-CM work with Samsung Galaxy s3

Does Pro 24-CM work with Samsung Galaxy s3 - I tried using it and I am not getting it to work as a microphone. Does it work, do I need an adapter?
      Asked on 4/17/2013 by TomsFoodieBlog

      1 answer

      • A:

The PRO-24 will NOT work with any smart phone. The reason for this is due to the connection, and the fact that it's a "stereo" microphone. When one connects a microphone to the Headphone Output of a smartphone, your smartphone thinks (if you will) that you are connecting a set of headphones. One would need an adapter to make it possible. Audio-Technica does not currently manufacture such an adapter. However, www.kvconnection.com does, in the KM-IPHONE-MIC or the KM-IPHONE-2TRS. The problem, however, is that the PRO24-CM is a stereo microphone, and there is no smartphone on the market that will accept a stereo microphone, even with an adapter. A solution would be to purchase the adapter from KVconnection.com, and either an ATR3350 or ATR6550.
