Is this a powered mic or an unpowered mic? I have a Canon Vixia R700 camcorder and would want to use it as an external mic, but is only compatible with the camera if it is a POWERED mic.

Thank you for your inquiry. This will not work. this microphone is a stereo microphone. The xlr inputs are mono. Also the impedance is different. There is no easy way of making this work that I know of.

        A:

Thank you for your inquiry. That will depend upon a couple of things. First, your computer must have a 3.5mm microphone level input and that input must provide plug in power. You will have to check with your computer provider or the manufacturer.

    • Q:

Hello, I own the Pro 24-CM Microphone, I'm trying to use it with my camcorder which has a plug in power connector however the sound level that I get is much lower than the volume obtained by using the camcorder internal mic, is it neccesary to remove the battery when using it with a plug in power ? Will it cause any damage if not removed ?
Does anyone have a schematic diagram for this unit ?

Just for fun... I was going to get a 1/4 female to XLR male adapter and try recording some vocal tracks on my 16 track recorder.

I realize that there are better stereo mics that will do this well but I can not afford those.

Thank you for your inquiry. No, this is not a shotgun mic. It is a stereo microphone and has 2 direction elements.
