â€˘ With the "Microphone Boost" enabled, and proper volume setting, you should get a clear green-level indication in the Recording Tab of the Sound Properties. You should get a significant amount of bars in the level indication, not just one, when tapping the microphone.
Please do not confuse â€śplaybackâ€ť with â€śplaythroughâ€ť. "Playback" means that after a sound is recorded, it will play-back through your computer. "Playthrough" means hearing audio straight through the computer, regardless of recording. Computers are NOT configured to be â€śplaythroughâ€ť devices, but they will â€śplaybackâ€ť when configured properly. A good example of a playthrough device is a PA System or Vocal Amplifier.
