Great mic!! Nothing better under $200......

    By

Comments about Audio-Technica AT2035 Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

I use this mic in a home recording studio for Rap & RnB.... Good clean sound...the 10 db pad helps to pull out alot of the background noise and the 80hz low end filter pullout the hum and rumble noise. Makes for less work in post production. Im sure there are higher end mics out there with better sound quality but they probably cost alot more.... In the $200 range this is def A-1.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT2035 Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

This is a step up from the AT2020 ... comes with a shockmount (that you have to use, since its the only mic mount that is delivered with it...no threads), a rolloff switch and a 10db pad. The shockmount is snug enough to allow many positions for the side address mic and the LC capsule is very good for the bargain price.

I'm a rapper and producer from Malaysia.
Previously I was using the M-Audio Nova condenser mic. I wouldn't say that It was bad but I wasn't satisfied with the quality I got from it. So when i decided to change to another mic, I came across the AT2035 and purchased it. I must say I was more than amazed! Such quality and clarity! If you're really familiar with EQ's and compression, there's no doubt that you can get the sound want from the AT2035. I'm more than satisfied! Amazing mic! Amazing price!

I'll do another review post soon with link to the video of my song recorded through AT2035.

Till then, great job Audio-Technica! Wonderful product!

I have used many studio mics over the years and never come across a mic that costs so little and sounds so great! I have A-B'd it against my TLM-103 and much prefer the sound of the AT-2035 to the Neumann. Considering I purchased three of them for less than a third the cost of one TLM-103, I am thoroughly satisfied!!!

You won't find a better deal.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT2035 Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

About a year ago, while researching equipment for setting up my first small, home-recording studio, I settled on the AT2035, and this was simply because it provided the virtual flat, truly accurate response I was hoping to record, especially when attempting to capture the wonderful sound of my 1938 Gibson L00.

Since I purchased two (for stereo recording), and since I've just now started using them, I've never been more satisfied with the professional quality of their construction as well as in their ease of use, especially when I add any other instrument (including voice# to the mix.

If anyone was trying to do the same as me #especially with a limited budget), I know they would be fully content with the performance of the AT2035 - they are worth every penny.

Is there a stand that comes with it (or is it just the microphone)? Also, will it be able to work with my computer? Right now I have a windows labtop, it was made 2 years ago and XPS edition (Sorry that I do not know specifics).

                    A:

The AT2035 does not come with a microphone stand. It does, however, come with the AT8458 Shockmount.

Additionally, to get the AT2035 to work with a computer, you will need some sort of Phantom Power Supply and the correct cables to make this work. This is relative to your particular computer. Therefore, to receive an answer to your question, please contact the Audio-Technica United States (ATUS) Audio Solutions Team at:

                  • CUSTOMER CARE

                    A:

The AT2035 will not work with an XLR to USB cable, as the AT2035 condenser microphone requires 11-52v of Phantom Power. An XLR to USB cable might supply bus power, which is 4v, which is 7v shy of being able to power the microphone. Therefore, you will need a Phantom Power supply and a standard XLR cable. We manufacture the AT8801 Phantom Power Supply, and the AT8314 standard XLR microphone cable.

My microphone (an AT-2035) doesn't appear to be working; I have it plugged in properly and have it in a safe place where it won't fall but it doesn't seem to want to work.
