Ideal for conference centers, boardrooms, courtrooms, houses of worship, and other installed applications, the U857Q is designed to plug directly into a panel- or desk-mounted XLRF-type connector. This cardioid condenser quick-mount gooseneck microphone offers unsurpassed immunity from radio frequency interference thanks to Audio-Technica’s UniGuard® innovations. The 14.47” long microphone features an ultra-flexible small-diameter gooseneck and accepts interchangeable elements, available in cardioid, hypercardioid, omnidirectional and UniLine® line cardioid polar patterns. Equipped with self-contained electronics, the phantom-powered microphone also offers an 80 Hz low-cut UniSteep® filter that reduces pickup of low-frequency ambient noise.

    • Q:

We have 2 U857Q gooseneck mikes and they both stopped working at the same time in our sanctuary. We have tested everything sound board is good, another mike works so we figure it in the U857Q mike. What is causing this and is there any thing we can do on our end?

Where can I get our AT857QM serviced? It is cutting in and out while people are speaking into it. Very distracting for church services.

    • Q:

      U857Q - Battary

It says it accepts a battery but I can find no details.

      Typical usage duration?
LED available to notify when low?

      Thanks, Mike

The U857Q will NOT accept a battery. It features an XLR barrel connection for "Quick" mounting (Q). I double-checked the information on our web page, and we do not mention the use of a battery.

The U857AL will accept a battery, but does NOT feature an XLR barrel connection. Rather, it features a 5/8 27-threaded mount. Battery Life with one AA battery is approximately 1,200 hours.

There is no LED with any Audio-Technica UniPoint Gooseneck Microphone.

The U857Q Series of Gooseneck Microphones are phantom powerable only. The U857A Series can be either phantom or battery powered. The U857A Series microphones use an inline power module, the AT8531, which accepts a single AA 1.5V battery to power the microphone when phantom power is not available.
