Comments about Audio-Technica 700 Series Frequency-agile Diversity UHF Wireless Systems:

I was turned onto this product by a salesman and the product has been more than what i expected. The quality is more than comparable to my hard wired microphones. I love the mobility and the durability. I can say this product is road worthy and I know i will be purchasing another one soon. I recently purchased two wireless guitar systems and I also love them. The down and dirty is they are GREAT!

I am a piano player/vocalist in a catholic church and this wireless product allows me to play and sing with no wires to encumber me. The 700 series gives my voice clarity and reliability and without wires it gives a professional quality usually found in a wired microphone. Very pleased.

Comments about Audio-Technica 700 Series Frequency-agile Diversity UHF Wireless Systems:

I use a pair of these units with Lavalier Systems along with two Sony HVR-Z1U HD Cameras. They work flawlessly, very little setup needed and great audio.

You might find some "carrier hiss" with voice if your levels aren't up to snuff and you need to boost in post. This would be my only complaint for the units.... But, at this price point you cannot go wrong.

Can I use a sax mic with the 700 series

My wife uses a audio-technica 700 series for singing using one mic. I play sax and was wondering if I can buy a wireless mic for my horn and use it on the same system ?
Asked on 5/21/2014 by Quincy from New Brunswick

                1 answer

                • A:

You can purchase a bodypack transmitter and a microphone (such as our PRO 35cW Clip-on Instrument Microphone) and use it IN PLACE OF your current handheld microphone/transmitter, but no you cannot use both at the same time with the one (ATW-R700) wireless receiver that you have. To use two wireless microphones simultaneously requires the use of two complete systems (two transmitters and two receivers) and each system must operate on its own frequency. The ATW-701 is the version of your 700 Series system that consists of the bodypack transmitter and receiver ONLY, no microphone. Purchase the PRO 35cW instrument microphone separately and use it with the 701 system. Set the 701 system to a channel that is different from the channel your current handheld system is set to. Note that all 8 channels on the 700 Series Wireless Systems are compatible with each other for simultaneous use. You do need to make certain that the number of channels you need are available for use in your area however. Contact our Audio Solutions Department at (330) 686-2600 ext 5000 or at audio-solutions@atus.com for help determining this.

Thank you for your inquiry. This product was discontinued many years ago and no longer available. Also, please note that this system is also in the 700 MHz frequency band which was sold by the FCC and is no longer legal to use.

                ATW-R700 - Bad Power Connection

My ATW-R700 is having problems staying powered. Apparently, the connector for the 12V in to power the unit is "sloppy" with the connector in the Power Supply, and it loses a connection. My work-around is to pull the power cord from the power supply 90 degrees to the connector until I get reliable power, and then tape the cord in that position to the box. At first, I thought it was a broken wire in the power supply, so I bought another one. But it behaves the exact same way.

Depending on the gig and the weather, this can fail.

                Whats the answer?

Green light on, channels match, no sound?

We have a pair of t702's at our church. They have done well, however, one of them just recently stopped working. Iv checked batteries, and the green light goes on, both the mic and the receiver are on matching channels, but nothing picks up through our sound board. One day everything worked fine, the next day, no sound. have you had anything like this happen before? Keep in mind our other handheld is working just fine.

Thank you for your inquiry. Can you swap hand held microphones (change the channel) and see if the problem follows the microphone or stays with the receiver? You will probably need to send the failing component in for service.

PLEASE READ THE BELOW INFORMATION BOTH CAREFULLY AND THOROUGHLY!

To properly send a stereo signal from a playback device (computer, DVD player, iPad, iPod, iPhone, Smartphone, etc.) to a mono bodypack transmitter, it will require some adapting. Summing a stereo signal into a mono signal without a summing box can cause (permanent) damage to both the playback device and the transmitter. Therefore, a summing-box will be NECESSARY for your operation. There is a company called RapcoHorizon that manufactures a 3.5mm TRS Stereo Summing interface. When used with the Audio-Technica XLRW, it will properly sum the stereo signal into mono, for compatible use with an Audio-Technica Bodypack Transmitter (such as the T701). The RapcoHorizon summing prodcuts to be used with an Audio-Technica XLRW are either the LTIGLBLOX, or the LTIBLOX.

Therefore, you would need the following to make your request possible:
                  - LTIGLBLOX (rapco horizon)
                  - XLRW (audio-technica)

                  Thanks!

I want to added/replace a 700 series lavalier Micro (ATW-701L) with a handheld microphone PROT502. I understand that the ATW-702 is no longer available. I want to have the option of either using the lavalier or the handheld with the ATW 700 series receiver. I understand that I can only use one or the other. Therefore I need to purchase from the local dealer only the handheld microphone but only if there are no compatibility problems and available. Do you see a problem? If so, then are there any other options?
