It was said here that this microphone needs 5V to operate in conjunction of M2 and M3 wireless systems. How do we have 5V available in that system if they only have 2 batteries AA ( 2 x 1.5 V)?

I have a JVC HM170 and want to record video and use a lapel mic for audio. Can I use the AM3 for this with my camera. If not, what options are available?

    Joe

Thank you for your inquiry. According to the manual for your camera It appears that it has XLR inputs. If so, this microphone will not work. Look at the MT830R. It is similar and should work for you.

Hello can this mic work with camcorders? I want to plug it in in my, Sony HDR AS 100 action camera.

    Max

Thank you for your inquiry. I don't believe this will work. I think the wiring is different.

Can the volume be adjusted with this mic using the M2 system?

    Matt

Yes, there is a volume pot inside of the M2R battery compartment.

Will this mic work with my Pro88?

    Fer Civeira

Thank you for your inquiry. It will not work with your Pro88w. I suggest the MT830mw, which is a very similar microphone and designed for this system.

Will this lav mic work with a Sony Handycam HDR-CX260V? I need a relatively inexpensive but decent-quality portable lav system that can plug easily into the camera (1/8" stereo jack) and clip to the wearer without a lot of bulky transmitters and receivers. Thank you!

The AM3 will not work. It is designed specifically for use with our Wireless IEM Receiver packs. The pack provides bias voltage to power the microphone on the RING of the plug, not the tip which is more common. I recommend our ATR3350iS Omnidirectional wired Lavalier microphone (with an attached 20 foot cable) for your application. The mic provides its own power via a button cell battery located in an inline power module. The module also contains an On/Off switch. Do NOT use the provided Smartphone adapter when connecting the mic to your camera. is there an xlr adapter to use this mike with a cable instead of wireless system? (similar to Sennheiser MZA900P)

    Sparkie

There is not. This mic was designed specifically for use as an ambient microphone to be used in conjunction with our wireless in ear monitor systems receiver pack. It requires 5 V DC on the ring of its 3.5 mm stereo connector. If you remove the 3.5 mm plug and re-terminate the mic to a TA3F type connector, we have phantom power adapters that will allow you to use it with a cable.

Will this work with a ATW-T210?

    DRJPPJR

No it will not. The AM3 is designed to be used specifically with our Wireless In-Ear Monitor Systems Receiver packs as an ambient microphone. It uses a 3.5mm plug, and is expecting to see +5V DC on the Ring. Our MT830cW is the same microphone element designed specifically for use with our wireless microphone systems which feature a Unipak model bodypack Transmitter. The ATW-T210 you mention is such a Transmitter. It uses a 4-pin female connector that is expecting to see bias voltage from the Transmitter on pin 4.Use the MT830cW Lavalier Microphone instead.

Where is the volume control on M3 receiver for this ambient mic?

    Irene

Thank you for your inquiry. The volume is set via the menu on the M3 receiver. First, make sure the Aux input is set to microphone (not line) in the menu and then adjust your volume accordingly. This informationa can be found in the manual for the M3 system.
