Best P-Mount Cartridge for the price!

This cartridge can be purchased online for around $30 and provides an excellent alternative to much more expensive cartridges for someone who would like to hear all of the music that is available while playing vinyl records. I highly recommend this cartridge to someone who is either just 'getting into' vinyl or listening on a budget.

  • Q & A

Is there a 78 rpm stylus for this cartridge?

    No there is not.

what is the weight of the at311ep cartridge

Thanks for your inquiry. The weight of the AT311EP cartridge is 6g.

Hi will this work on a moranz tt483

    Jim s

Thank you for your inquiry. From what I can see in online photos of this turntable it appears to have a P mount table cartridge. If that is correct, yes the cartridge will work.

Have brought my old Kenwood KD-54R back into service with excellent results. The cartridge is a HiTec 103, and back in the day I successfully replaced the stylus several times with an AT 213-D6C, which was compatible with AT3472P. Now I'm considering replacing the cartridge with either an AT 3482P or an AT 311EP. Do you see any issues? Thanks, WN

No issues. Either of these will work.

Will this cartridge work on a technics SL-B20 turntable?

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, this will work for this turntable as will any of our P or Universal mount cartridges.

    Will a AT311EP work as a replacement for a really old VS215EP

    Double Eagle

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, they are both P mount cartridges and should work for you.

Can it be a replacement for the AT211EP and does it come with an adaptor bracket

    Jo puget

To receive an answer to your question, please contact the Audio-Technica United States (ATUS) Audio Solutions Team at: Thanks!

The instructions that came with my AT311EP say "Install cartridge as described above for the the 1/2" mount models." This is not described above, below or in-between. It is not described in the instructions for the turntable. It is not hinted at in any diagram. How is this cartridge to be installed into the headshell that came with the Audio-Technica AT-LP1240?

The instructions provided with the AT311EP should have had a small diagram of the cartridge and head shell saying which colored cable connects to which pin. If you are looking at the back of the cartridge (with the needle facing the ground) your pins would be as follows: Top Left - White Top Right - Red Bottom Left - Blue Bottom Right - Green

Will this work as replacement for AT216EP Cartridge by Audio-Technica, or there any other P-Mount cartridges that would work

The AT311EP will work as a replacement for the AT216EP. However, if you just need a replacement stylus, please email for additional information. Thanks!

Is the AT311EP cartridge compatible with a (1/2" mount) tonearm that has an effective mass of 22g (assuming a 6g cartridge) in consideration of cartridge compliance?

Yes, but I would only recommend the AT311EP if your tonearm has adjustable height. It will be important to keep the arm level as this is already a low-riding cartridge. Your medium mass arm will cause it to ride lower than a lower mass arm would. Due to the shape of the cartridge body, it is possible for it to bottom out on the record if there is a severe enough warp and the cartridge is not sitting level.
