    I'm falbergasted speechles ;-)

As i wrote in review title comment. I's unbelievable good , and for this price? Holycrp ;-). It is like the good old philips GP412 with Shibata MKII from back in the days! Its that good or better, hence it is that type of sound/musicality. Real Hi-Fi thus.

    I recommend it !

This cartridge is supplied with the At-LP120 turntable , the sound is OK when played with this turntable , but then i tried it on a Technics SL-220 and there was a HUUUGE improvement on the sound quality . Clear sound and great details with a very good separation

    This cartridge sounds absolutely great!

I own a Dual 704 and i wanted a better catridge since it had a Shure m70 that sounded just thin on this machine (it sounds good on my old pioneer PL 112D though). So i was in the market for a new cartridge. I read some really possitive things about this one so i bought it . Man was i suprised! The sound is just so vivid now! Enough bass, and an overal clarity that is much better as my old cart. I'm absolutely in love with this cartridge! I alway knew my Dual was capable of a much better sound but i thought i would have to get really expensive cartridges. But that seems not nescessary. Great! Thank T.A.!!

The class at a budget price

This catridge is real a good choice. Sound good with a superb tracking even in the inner grooves No matter what kind of music you play, the sound result clear and with good dynamics. Just have the patiece to wait around 20/30 hour and the sound come out even better. As I said, it's a really good choice.

    A excellent cartridge!

I made detailed measurements of AT96E, as a part of the AT LP120 USB turntable, by use of the internal preamp and with 2 g tracking force. The main results are as follows: Frequency response: 40 - 16000 Hz ± 1.5 dB (the measuring LP did not have lower of higher frequencies recorded) THD: 0.6% at 1 kHz Channel crosstalk: 29 dB at 1 kHz, 20 dB at 8 kHz These are excellent values for this price category! If using AT96E with LP120 USB - check the actual tracking force on the stylus! I found that my counterbalance scale is systematically wrong by 20%: the actual force is 1.2 x the scale value!

    WOW1

This AT95e cartridge has amazed me from the second the needle entered the first track on my record collection dating back to the 1940's! The sonic clarity of vocals, the super richness of the mid range, especially in orchestrations and great resounding bass was unbelievable. For the first time, I am hearing instrumentation I did not know was imbedded in those recordings! Tinkling bells, guitar chords, bass fiddles, violins, you name it....they are there ! And, the vocals are so clear it sounds like the person as well as the orchestra are live in my room. Audio Technica 95e is amazing...and for the price is hard to beat! I am still reeling from the audio dynamics capable by this excellent cartridge! PS. The tracking is superb with excellent inner groove music as well as virtually no distortion. What a bargain!!

Give it a helping hand, then sit back and be amazed!

The AT95E has a well-deserved reputation that need not be repeated here. But, as is my custom, I listened to a few of my favorite "test tracks" (actual music, not signals), and the added the finishing touch - a line-contact stylus. For example, I used the Karl Bohm/Vienna Philharmonic recording of the Beethoven 7th, second movement. With the stock AT95E, it sounded as good as ever. But on re-listening with the line-contact stylus, I was flatly amazed. I heard things in the orchestration that came through radiantly that I had never heard before. Beautiful! I recommend LP Gear for the correct line-contact stylus for this cartridge. It costs a few bucks, but is the perfect - I'd go so far as to say "essential" - finishing touch. You won't regret it!

    Horrendous Documentation, Great Sound

    4

The accompanying documentation "sheet" is awful. You get one when you purchase an extra cartridge to keep on hand. You do not get one with the AT95E cartridge that comes with you AT120USB turntable. Additionally, what you do not get are any clear, easy to read instructions to perform cartridge alignment, or set overhang. You're on your own, or it's assumed that you are an audiophile. Audio Technica really should produce "how to" videos on how to do installation and proper alignment. Not everyone has access to a dealer, and even if they did, might be laughed out of the store when looking for assistance. But the cartridge does sound great, as long as you basically understand that you're completely on your own in figuring out how to properly install and align one.

Great upgrade from AT91 - from a user recently back to Vinyl, Audio Technica make great carts, I had a budget, looked and listened to ortofon equivalent, this for me was the better. By all accounts will get better once its done a few more hours. Would recommend definitely.

    great budget cartridge!

An excellent all around phono cartridge that delivers on value! Clear, resolved definition, particularly in the highs, along with crisp and punchy bass. Jazz dynamics are superb, and blues play with soul and presence. This little cartridge is hard to beat, I doubt there is any competition at this price point. I have it set at ~2.1g VTF on a Technics SL-D2 and am very pleased with tracking results and sonic performance. Highly recommended!

  • Q & A

Would this cartridge work on a Technics SL-BD26 turntable?

    Bobo

It appears the listed turntable is a P Mount tone arm and may not use a standard half inch mount cartridge such as the AT95E. Rather you may use P Mount cartridges.

I just got a really helpful answer from you guys. But I have a few more. So I bought the Audio Technica AT-LP120USB but I understand now that for deejaying I need to replace the standard AT95E . Would you recommend the AT-XP5 and if I buy this one I also need to buy the ATN-XP5 needle seperately? What would you recommend? I want music Quality as good as I can get it for an affordable price, using it almost every other day at home for deejaying. Kind regards

I bought myself an Audio Technica AT-LP120USB vinyl player (it's the first I have ever owned/played. now I was wondering if the element/needle is usable for scratching and deejaying. Because I read somewhere I have to buy another bc the standard one Will damage my vinyls etc. Also what would you recommend as a spheric needle wich is suitable with this player? Is every element/needle attachable on every player or are there lots of differents shapes etc? ,Thank you very much

The AT95E is not designed for DJ scratching. You may find helpful informationhttps://blog.audio-technica.com/audio-solutions-question-of-the-week-what-are-the-differences-between-hi-fi-and-dj-broadcast-phono-cartridges/ on this topic here:

I've been using this cartridge for long time but I want to upgrade it. What would you recommend? My turn table is Pioneer PL-518x.

    misopal

It appears your listed turntable allows for most medium mass half inch mounted cartridges. You may verify this list with your turntable manufacturer. The Audio-Technica Cartridges I recommend for your turntable, in a good/better/best order, are: 1. Good a. AT-VM95E b. VM510CB c. AT-VM95EN 2. Better a. AT-VM95ML b. VM530EN c. AT-VM95SH d. VM540ML 3. Best a. VM740ML b. VM750SH c. VM760SLC PLEASE NOTE: The above cartridges are not designed to play 78 RPM records, per se. If you'd like to get an all-around cartridge so that you may play 78's, this is what I would recommend doing: ● If you use the AT-VM95 Series, you may use the interchangeable AT-VMN95SP (stylus only) to play 78's ● If you use the VM500 or VM700 Series, you may use the interchangeable VMN70SP (stylus only) to play 78's ● For Shellac 78 RPM records, you may use the VM670SP cartridge Additional infomration here: http://blog.audio-technica.com/audio-solutions-question-of-the-week-can-i-play-78-rpm-records-on-the-at-lp120-usb-turntable/ http://blog.audio-technica.com/audio-solutions-question-of-the-week-which-is-the-best-cartridge-to-use-with-my-turntable/ http://blog.audio-technica.com/audio-solutions-question-week-question-week-can-explain-different-types-styli/ http://blog.audio-technica.com/audio-solutions-question-week-can-explain-features-audio-technicas-new-vm-phono-cartridges/ If you would like to, you could also purchase a new AT-HS1 or AT-HS10SV (AT-HS10BK) Headshell. This way, if you'd like, you could purchase one of the above cartridges without having to change out the cartridge every time you'd want to switch. Additionally, it is recommended that you use a Cartridge Alignment Protractor to properly align the cartridge to the turntable, for proper tacking of your vinyl records. You may find information on alignment here: http://blog.audio-technica.com/audio-solutions-question-of-the-week-how-do-i-align-the-cartridge-on-the-at-lp120-usb-and-at-lp1240-usb-turntables/

Would this be a good choice for a Denon DP-11F turntable ? If not, what do you recommend ?

    Paul

It appears the turntable you listed allows for P Mounted cartridges which the AT95E is NOT. You may confirm with the turntable manufacture.
