  • Overview

The VM530EN is a top-end elliptical stylus cartridge in Audio-Technica’s new VM cartridge line – a line that harks back to A-T’s early days as a manufacturer primarily of high-end phono cartridges, while also incorporating today’s advanced technology. Like all VM cartridges, the VM530EN is equipped with dual magnets that are positioned to match the left and right channels in the stereo record groove for outstanding channel separation and extended frequency response. The cartridge’s lightweight 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical nude stylus reduces the execution mass of the vibration system, enabling fuller frequency reproduction and less tracking distortion than a bonded stylus. Includes mounting hardware.

I've a 2011 linn majik LP12 with the project arm, dynavector 10X5,hercules psu, heed MM phono amp, br900cd digital recording studio. M audio bx8a active studio monitors, furman mains power conditioning. It sounds great but the stylus is nearly 4years old but replacement costs £450with fitting. Our budget is maximum £200 to £250 with fitting. I'm considering At 95e or At95ex, At Vm530en which is supposed to be similar but modern version of the linn K9, or At VM 540ml cause the dealer says its good!! I'm of the opinion that the 530en is going to be good and fits our finances very well. I'm very keen on the 95ex but doubt it's performance given the £45 price which suits me very nicely but might be a false economy,? At the end of the day I will have to downgrade as none of these 4 carts I mention will be as good as the 10x5 I have now. So your advice please on this and will they all work well on my majik LP12 with the project arm? Thank you.

Hi Will this cartridge work with the AT 120 LP - USB turntable

    Michael

Yes, the VM530EN will work with the AT-LP120-USB turntable.

hi, will this work with a pro-ject debut carbon DC?

    nancy the newb

Thank you for your inquiry. Your turntable has a low mass tonearm. An optimal cartridge would be a high compliance cartridge. The VM530EN is a medium compliant cartridge, but should be ok.

I have a 30+ year old Denon turntable with an AT120E cartridge. Is the VM530EN a compatible replacement? I see the ATN120EB stylus priced at $120, and for the price difference I would rather replace the cartridge. Thanks

    Timothy Tuggmutton

Yes, the comparable model with be the VM530EN.

Just replaced an AT100e with a VM530EN and it sounds very good, but would like to know how long it will take to break in and what, if any, characteristics will change.

    Louis

All AT hardware are setup to not require any "break in period" and is ready to use out of the box.

Since I can't find any info on the AT120E, can someone tell me what the tracking force is?

    Hattrick

The recommended tracking force is 1.8-2.2 g (2.0 g standard)
