    Excellent headphones, not quite durable

Great headphones, but the ear pads won't last long. The faux leather stuff starts cracking and it comes off.

    Great investment

I believe its the by far the best quality headphone you can get for its value. I use mine everyday and absolutely love them.

    Exceptional Buy

I've had my pair for over a year now and I havent had one complaint. I use them every single day and they have exceptional audio quality I recommend them to everyone who mentions looking for a new pair of headphones.

    Best Headphones for the price

Try it to fall in love with these headphones

    Very bad model

Wery bad cords. Two of it died in a year. I've bought another one and it's about to die too. After some time I've noticed phase issues during listening. If I touch 3.5 plug everithing goes to normal. After a while sound ruins and nothing helps. It repeated for three times with different cords.

Can't go wrong with these. Best cost/quality headphone

I rarely write reviews, and never give anything 5 stars, but these honestly deserve it. By far and without question, these are the best cost/quality headphones you can possibly buy. However, even were they priced at $250 or more like some less deserving headphones are, they'd still be worth it. I'm a bassist and use them when practicing or listening solo, but my main purpose in getting them was to use when playing live, and they have not disappointed at all. They are very comfortable and solid, and they actually fit on my big head which is a problem I've had with other headphones. It's also loaded with lots of cool little features. In terms of sound, they are very well balanced and have a solid, but not overpowering bass, and the highs come through very nice. I can hear very clearly and comfortably all the other musicians. Also if you didn't know, Snarky Puppy uses these same headphones, and anything good enough for them is good enough for me.

Best headphones I have ever owned

Hands down an amazing set of headphones, no doubt about it. Compared them to a huge rack of competitors at my local music store. By far the best sound for me... bass is there and it's tight but not overwhelming, mid is warm and clean, highs break through nicely. They fit tight but the seal makes the bass compression punchy. Kickdrums sound and feel great. Uncomfortable is a bit of an overstatement- they are tight tho.

Excellent mid-range headphones for all uses.

I bought a pair of these about six years ago. They were the first mid-range Headphones I ever purchased. Despite my love of music and the amount of time I spend in the studio recording, mixing, etc. I've never had the kind of budget to buy those really expensive, studio cans, like Sennheiser's. So I gave a bunch of different brands a demo at the local music shop and the Audio-Technica's were far and away the most impressive I heard. I've used them for every DJ gig, for mixing and for personal listening. Unfortunately I used them so much, I think i wore them out after six years. So I bought a new pair a few months back, and have decided to dedicate them only to studio use.

My favorite pair of headphones for every situation.

I have 6 pairs of headphones. These headphones I use the most by far. For my mobile phone, to mixing my recordings, for my video editing etc. If I had to keep just one pair, these would be the ones!

    Quality + Comfort + Durable + Affordable

If you're looking for quality earphones that are comfortable to wear and can handle a daily commute, you've found them. I use them mostly at work with ambient sound to drown out office chatter for extended lengths of time with zero discomfort. When I do play music it's usually soundboard quality live recordings and the sound is full and crisp, hearing every instrument perfectly. I am certainly no audiophile but I do understand quality sound and these earphones deliver that, no doubt about it.

  • Q & A

Hello I have an ATH M50X. it came with 3 cables, i basically only use the 3.5mm jack to plug into my phone or PC. But i do have a question, the other cable with the large jack, is it 6.3 mm jack?? what is the size of the large jack? because i am planing to buy 3.5mm adapter just so i could plug that exact cable (the one with the large jack) into my DDJ. therefore i need to know the exact jack size. thank you very much

Thank you for your inquiry. It has a 6.3 mm (1/4") screw-on adapter.

Are these headphones recommended and/or compatible with an electronic drum set?

Thank you for your inquiry. These will work well with electronic drums.

Are these tuned flat like the M40x, or do they emphasize any particular frequency range?

    I Love M40x

Thank you for your inquiry. They do have more low end than the ATH-M40x.

    Is there a mic?

At this time, the M Series headphones including the ATH-M50x headphones, being designed for professional studio monitoring, will not have consumer headphone features such as an inline microphone and controls available.

Do you offer deeper ear pads as an accessory for these model? If not do you have any suggestions to increase the comfort of the current ear pads?

Thank you for your inquiry. No, the provide earpads are that we make for them.

I'm about to buy Audio Technica M50x headphones for my first headphones and I'm all about bass does it have great bass.

Each set of headphones will have their own sonic signature and recommend trying them out for yourself and see if they will best suit your needs.

Hi. How can I order replacement cables for my ATH-M50x headphones?

You may purchase replacement HP-LC, HP-SC, or HP-CC through an authorized Audio-Technica Dealer.

How can I check if mine are genuine? Cheers

You may contact Audio-Technica Europe for further assistance.

I can't hear any sound. I have tried all the different cables. Is it possible there is a mute function turned on?

Please contact our Audio Solutions Department at (330) 686-2600 ext 5000 or at for assistance with this.

I am planning to buy ATH-M50x headphones for my digital piano (Yamaha P71 88-Key Weighted Action Digital Piano). Will the cable fit / connect successfully to my piano? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your inquiry. The cables that come with the headphones are terminated with a 3.5mm stereo connector, and come with a 1/4" stereo adapter. So as long as the headphone jack on this piano is either 3.5mm or 1/4" these headphones will connect just fine.
