Audio-Technica Menu

Front of house engineer Dave Bracey has specified Audio-Technica microphones for the Golden Jubilee Rock & Pop Concert to be held in the grounds of Buckingham Palace on June 3.

05-01-2002 Supplied by leading hire company Britannia Row, a number of AT4050 large diaphragm microphones will feature across the stage; on drum overheads, Leslie cab, guitar amps and gong. The new Artist Elite AE3300 vocal microphone will be employed for backing vocals. Bracey took a short break from rehearsals to explain how the Audio-Technica mics had found their way onto the bill. “Having worked with A-T mics on a number of projects over the past few years, I know what to expect and that they never let me down. When I first got involved with the Jubilee concert there was a preliminary channel list already in place, but because of my positive experiences I have brought in a number of A-T mics on top. A particular favourite is the AT4050, and the fact that it occupies so many stage positions demonstrates its versatility. It has a nice flat, accurate output that makes it a pleasure to mix. The AE3300 is new, and I have only had the chance to check it out during these rehearsals, but as I was already intending to use A-T mics on backing vocals - I started out with the AT4054’s - I have simply switched from one A-T mic I like to another.” The concert will be performed in front of a huge audience of randomly selected members of the public and features a truly impressive cast list, with Eric Clapton, Emma Bunton, Elton John, Atomic Kitten, Sir Cliff Richard, Brian Wilson, Tony Bennett, S Club 7, Will Young, Joe Cocker, Sir Paul McCartney, Aretha Franklin, Shirley Bassey, Ozzy Osbourne and many more joining the all-star house band.
