Stow, OH 10-14-2008 Audio-Technica’s SpectraPulse® Ultra Wideband (UWB) Wireless Microphone System won the Technical Excellence & Creativity Award (TEC) for outstanding technical achievement in the category of Wireless Technology at the 24th annual TEC Awards in San Francisco October 3.

The groundbreaking SpectraPulse Ultra Wideband (UWB) Wireless Microphone System was nominated for the honor by top industry professionals, including engineers, studio owners, producers and other leading industry figures. SpectraPulse offers 14 simultaneous channels that operate flawlessly without RF turf wars, frequency hunting/coordination, “white space” issues or interference. Optional SpectraPulse encryption meets the NIST-approved AES encryption standard developed by the U.S. government for safeguarding sensitive material.

Founded in 1985, the Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards is the foremost program recognizing the achievements of audio professionals. Presented annually by the Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio, the TEC Awards honor the individuals, companies and technical innovations behind the sound of recordings, films, TV shows and live performances.

TEC Awards nominations are made by a panel of industry professionals and voted upon by the subscribers of Mix, a leading trade magazine of the recording and sound production industry. The awards are presented at a ceremony held each fall during the annual convention of the Audio Engineering Society.
