Oliver France, Sound Supervisor for Channel 4’s new Richard and Judy show, has chosen to employ Audio-Technica’s ES915 microphones in the main host and celebrity chat area.

01-01-2002 France, who has worked with A-T products on numerous occasions, was brought in to supervise the shows audio systems by production company Cactus TV, part of the EMI Chrysalis group. He explains, “The production team are quite rightly very particular about the visual appearance of the show, so I had to make sure that the microphones were discrete without making any sacrifices on the sound quality. I spoke to Paul Mason at Audio-Technica and he introduced me to the new Engineered Sound range. The ES915’s were perfect. They are incredibly unobtrusive in the shot and are working really well.” Designed for broadcast quality sound reinforcement, professional recording, television and other demanding sound pickup applications, the ES915’s have a unique modular make-up that enables the engineer to alter the polar pattern as required. The mics also feature an in built pre-amplifier and a low diameter flexible gooseneck for accurate positioning. The new show is transmitted live from the new purpose built Cactus studios in Kennington, London, and goes out at 5.00pm Monday to Fridays.
