Stow, OH 08-29-2018 Audio-Technica today announced the debut of its ATH-MSR7b over-ear high-resolution headphones, featuring a host of significant improvements from the acclaimed ATH-MSR7 model including new drivers, balanced audio connectivity, a lighter, more comfortable ergonomic design and other upgrades.

The ATH-MSR7b (SRP: $249.00) features exclusively tuned True Motion Drivers, which employ a 45 mm driver with a diamond-like carbon-coated diaphragm. This material is extremely light and responsive yet rigid, to deliver superlative resolution and transient response along with a wide Hi-Res Audio-capable 5 Hz – 50,000 Hz frequency range and reduced distortion.

The headphones’ performance is further improved through proprietary Dual-Layer Air Control technology, which precisely regulates airflow for heightened audio clarity. In addition, the ATH-MSR7b incorporates a new stainless steel acoustic mesh resistor that provides improved high-frequency response, and a newly designed bass acoustic resistor for extended, accurate bass. The sonic result is a detailed, powerful and spacious sonic presentation with a natural tonal balance that brings out the best in the listener’s favorite music including high-resolution audio source material.

The ATH-MSR7b offers balanced connectivity, to obtain the ultimate sonic performance from headphone amplifiers, high-end portable digital audio players and other components with balanced audio outputs. The ATH-MSR7b is supplied with a balanced audio cable with a 4.4mm connector and a standard 3.5mm cable. An optional 2.5mm balanced cable for use with Astell & Kern digital audio players and other models is also available. All the cables employ Audio-Technica’s exclusive A2DC headphone connector for superior channel separation and reduced crosstalk compared to the previously available cable.

The ATH-MSR7b is designed for total comfort. It’s 53 grams lighter than its predecessor and features memory foam earpads and a memory foam headband. The ATH-MSR7b is available in black and gun metal finishes and comes with a protective pouch.

The Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7b will be available in Fall 2018.
