Stow, OH 01-03-2017 At CES 2017 Audio-Technica is introducing new Sound Reality series Hi-Res Audio headphones: the in-ear ATH-CKR100iS, ATH-CKR90iS and ATH-CKR70iS, and the over-ear wireless ATH-DSR9BT and ATH-DSR7BT incorporating groundbreaking Pure Digital Drive technology (please refer to the separate press release for the ATH-DSR9BT and ATH-DSR7BT) and the over-ear ATH-SR9.

“Our new Sound Reality headphones are designed to appeal to music lovers and audiophiles seeking top-quality reproduction of high-resolution audio formats and their favorite music,” said Crystal Griffith, Audio-Technica U.S. Marketing Manager. “Digital audio reproduction has never sounded better, and our Hi-Res Audio-compliant Sound Reality models enable listeners to fully enjoy the sonic benefits of high-resolution audio and other high-quality recordings.”

The ATH-CKR100iS (SRP: US$389.00, available Spring 2017) incorporates Audio-Technica’s proprietary dual phase push-pull drivers, which utilize two 13 mm drivers that generate phase-aligned audio signals that are tailored to compensate for each driver’s inefficiencies, so that intermodulation distortion is reduced, response time is improved and frequency response is natural and extended. The dual phase push-pull driver system provides spacious, expansive and detailed sound across a wide frequency range, to complement every style of music.

The performance of this exclusive driver system is further enhanced by an aluminum stabilizer that ensures linear diaphragm movement. High-rigidity titanium housings reduce unwanted resonances and aim the drivers at the listener’s ears for optimal performance, while ensuring a comfortable fit with a high degree of sound isolation.

The ATH-CKR100iS provides frequency response to 45,000 Hz, reproducing all the high-frequency nuance and resolution of Hi-Res Audio source material. To preserve maximum audio clarity, the ATH-CKR100iS is supplied with a detachable 3-foot 9-inch cable that uses Audio-Technica’s newly developed A2DC (Audio Designed Detachable Coaxial) connectors. The cable is comprised of two separate star-quad cables, one each for the left and right channels for reduced channel crosstalk and improved isolation from external noise. Like all Sound Reality in-ear models, the ATH-CKR100iS has an inline mic and controller for answering calls and controlling music and video playback on portable devices, and comes with XS, S, M and L-sized eartips and a hard carrying case.

The Sound Reality ATH-CKR90iS in-ear headphones also employ the dual phase push-pull driver system, with a 13 mm and 10.4 mm driver operating in tandem and wired out of phase to provide lower harmonic distortion and improved damping and bass frequency control. The headphones’ aluminum driver housings reduce unwanted resonance and position the drivers for optimum audio reproduction. The ATH-CKR90iS (US$189.00, available Spring 2017) is supplied with a detachable 3-foot 9-inch cable with A2DC connectors, and an in-line mic and controls, XS, S, M and L eartips and a carrying case.

The ATH-CKR70iS in-ear headphones bring Hi-Res Audio performance to the under-$100 price point (US$99.00) with features including powerful 11.8 mm drivers with high-precision stabilizers for linear diaphragm movement, and lightweight machined aluminum housings that angle the drivers for superior sound quality with smooth frequency response. Available in black and champagne gold, the ATH-CKR70iS includes XS, S, M and L eartips and a protective pouch.

The Sound Reality ATH-SR9 headphones making their debut at CES 2017 are the new over-ear Sound Reality model. The ATH-SR9 incorporates 45 mm True Motion Hi-Res Audio drivers with Diamond-Like Carbon coated diaphragms and high-purity 7N-OFC (oxygen-free copper) voice coils. The drivers are mounted in a rigid aluminum housing that attenuates unwanted resonances. The sonic result is superlative Hi-Res Audio quality with natural, detailed and spacious reproduction of vocals and instruments and extended frequency response to beyond 40,000 Hz. The ATH-SR9 (US$449.00, available in Spring 2017) is supplied with an 3-foot 9-inch detachable cord with an A2DC connector.
