  • Overview

Featuring a flush, tabletop-mount design, the AT8657/LED microphone socket allows for the easy use of any 21 mm gooseneck or button-style boundary microphone with a 3-pin XLRM-type output – including our ES945 and ES947 – in a variety of presentation environments.

The socket’s logic out capability permits control of remote devices from a programmable capacitance switch, so users can easily trigger an external device (e.g., a camera or light) with the touch of a button – an extremely useful feature in conference and boardroom installations. The socket also features a lock switch that automatically locks the microphone in place upon insertion, holding it securely until switch is manually released by user.

Additionally, an integral Red/Green LED ring is controllable from a logic-enabled device and is powered by the microphone’s phantom power, eliminating the need for an additional power source.

Each socket comes with a pair of rubber isolation rings and a metal retainer ring (for use with gooseneck mics only) to dampen surface vibrations.

I am buying this product again

I really like this product and soon hope to be buyng them for another project. The only issue that I really had was that the table for the project had not been selected when I chose this microphone base with the gooseneck microphone. The table was too thick so it was dificult to mount. Other than that is was great. System has been up and running for almost two years with no issues.

Commercial integration install. Boardroom table. Providing power to 10 mics from an external 12v power supply. I assume a resistor of some type will be needed on the +12v side. Are you able to assist me with figuring out what size I would need? If so, what might that be?

Are AT8657/LED and AT8656/LED different products and if so what is the difference or does one superceed the other?

Yes, they are. Note, the AT8656/LED is not currently available in the US.

Just to clarify, this product does not actually mute/unmute the microphone itself, it can just be used to tell 3rd parth devices (DSP, etc) to do the muting/unmuting. Is that correct?

    That is correct.

AT8657/LED Since the microphone is Omnidirectional is it possible to disable the click sound of the said switch coz it might be heard by the microphone

The switch is not mechanical and does not make any clicking sounds.

Can the AT8657/LED be used for Muting/unmuting Gooseneck Microphone ?

Yes. The contact closure will send a signal to your device processing the contact closure may be programmed to mute/mute the microphone.

Is it possible to field modify an ES945/LED to work with the AT8657/LED?

No but you may use the ES945 (non LED) with the AT8657/LED.

An image of AT8657/LED shows a gooseneck which has a type flange to cover the XLR housing space. Is this flange sold separately or they are part of specific gooseneck mics?

You may contact Audio-Technica Europe for further assistance.

I need 10x of AT8657/LED.. where can I buy ASAP?

You may purchase from an Authorized Audio-Technica Sound Contractor.

Is the AT8657/LED compatible with my existing Shure MX395 microphones?

Thank you for your inquiry. The AT8657/LED will accommodate any standard XLR connection.

AT8657/LED Can the switch be lock on lock off?

Yes, the switch will send a contact closure which can trigger any action that is coded in your DSP.
