    With its ergonomically molded earpiece and unobtrusive one-inch boom, Audio-Technica’s BP893-TH MicroEarset offers inconspicuous placement along with clear, natural vocal pickup. Its lightweight low-profile design makes the microphone ideal for use in theatrical performances, houses of worship and broadcast studios.

    The BP893-TH MicroEarset is positioned unobtrusively over the ear. Its omnidirectional miniature condenser capsule offers outstanding pickup tailored for natural vocal reproduction, with audio reproduction similar to that of a high-quality lavalier microphone. The microphone is also ideal for use in violin pickup; wear the BP893-TH over the ear as usual, with no need for clamps on the violin.

    Will this product work with an Audio-technica ATW-T310b? Also, does part of it plug into the wearer's ear to hold it into place securely?


    No. To connect with the ATW-T310b transmitter that uses the "cW-Style" connector, you will want to use the BP893cW.TH.


    Is this unit compatible with the ATW-T310 transmitter? Thanks... aaron


    You may use any wireless microphone that ends in the code "cW" which indicates the cable properly terminates with the 4 pin HRS connection used on your Audio-Technica UniPak transmitter. The model that you would want is the BP893cW-TH


    I need some replacement foam windscreens for this mic (SPL BP892 Microset) , where can I order those?

    What does the th stand for? I'm looking for a way to mic my flute. I am using a head mic now used for drama team. You say it works for violin why not flute? And would it work with any system or would I need something else to be able to go to various places to play.

    Thank you for your inquiry. The TH means it is beige in color. Without the TH the microphone is black. We recommend this for violin because of the position the violin is held with the ear placed very near the body of the instrument. This allows for perfect placement. My concern with using it for flute would be if it is used near other instruments. Since the element is omni directional you could easily pick up other instruments. Also, since it is quite a distance from both the mouth and the keys, feedback could be a concern. I think the BP894-th, which has a unidirectional element and has a longer boom would be a better choice. Please note if you are using a wireless system you will need to select the appropriate model for your wireless system.


    Does this mic come wired for EV mics? We have EV UHF microphone systems (our beltpacks are BPU-2). Is the BP893-TH available wired ready to plug in to this beltpack? We ordered a Shure because of the connection (T4), as recommended by our vendor, and it is evidently not pinned out to match because it doesn't work. We really would like to use this mic! Thanks.


    Unfortunately they are not pinned out the same and we do not make a version of the BP893 for use with EV wireless systems.


    What is the power module for? Do I need this for catching a speaker's voice?


    The AT8539 is the power module for the following WIRED Microphones • BP892 • BP893 • BP894 • BP896 The AT8539 does not (in-and-of-itself) supply power to the microphone; rather, if any (brand-new) microphone comes with a power module (including the BP893), then the power module is absolutely a necessary component for the following reasons: • First, it converts the 11 - 52 VDC Phantom Power into a smaller DC bias voltage, which is used to power the FET impedance matching circuit inside the microphone. • Some also provide a low frequency roll off. • Battery power if Phantom Power is not available (NOT the case for the AT8539, since it does not accept a battery) • They also convert the signal to the proper impedance, and balance the output. Again, if a microphone comes with a power module, then that power module is a necessary component. Phantom Power (which is 11 - 52v, and is distributed by a mixer or phantom power supply over a standard XLR - XLR cable) is still a requirement to use the BP893. These microphones are also available to use with Audio-Technica wireless systems. However, to order the dedicated WIRELESS versions of any of the above microphones, add a "cW" to the end of the title. The WIRELESS versions do not come with a power module, and run on bias voltage only (NOT phantom). The default color for these microphones is Black. They are available in Beige (add a -TH).     feed back Purchased BP893-TH having difficulty getting this thing dialed in without getting feed back. Try to get good volume but very difficult. Any suggestions? Already using compressor and feed back eliminator. Still not able to get good quality sound. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
