    Mic does not pic uph

I am a fan of Audio Technica mics, I have a choral and and boundary mic I use for stage. I figured that they would make a better than average computer mic. This mic barely picks up my voice even with the Windows 10 settings boosting it to the max +30db. Even then I have to put the mic about an inch away from my mouth a speak very loudly before windows recognizes it.

Can't believe the quality vs the price. I use it with some desktop speakers for the best LYNC "speakerphone" I could imagine!

Hi, I'm using win 10 and I can't get this to work. Testing with voice recorder, the playback has a lot of background noise and my voice is very low. Testing with Windows speech recognition the level indicator stays very low. I have cranked up the mic everywhere I can find.

Thank you fro your inquiry. Your computer may have a combo jack (combination headphone microphone) it may need an adapter of some type to work if the jack does not auto sense what is plugged in.

will this microphone work with a Sony Digital PX 312 Recorder?

    jerry

According to your listed recorders manual on page 44, there is a 3.5mm stereo input for an external microphone and you may plug the ATR4650 microphone into that connection as the microphone is "dual mono" and will put the mono microphone signal on both channels.

can this mic be used with cortana and windows 10 ?

    RICHARD

Thank you for your inquiry. We have not tested this microphone with Cortana, but as long as it accepts a standard microphone input he should work.

Is this an upgraded version of the ATR4600?

    CRTRPTR

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes this is the direct replacement.

We have on hand an ATR4650 that was purchased several years ago that works well with one of our products - a special purpose amplifier to drive an audio induction loop to magnetically convey audio to hearing aids. Late last year, we purchased several more ATR4650s to evaluate for consideration of bundling them with our product. All of the newer ATR4650s exhibit strong pickup of ambient 60 Hz hum, especially when brought near 60 Hz AC circuitry. Neither the older ATR4650 nor any other microphone we have tried has exhibited this problem. Has audio-technica changed the shielding and grounding configuration of the ATR4650?

Does the polarity of the bias voltage applied to the microphone matter. If so which way should it be?

Will the ATR4650 work with a standard Audio Interface like a Focusrite 2i2? I would like to use multiple ATR4650 Mics to mic a room for a Lync conference call and I have several semi-pro audio interfaces that I could use. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What's wrong with the mic? My microphone is outputting the audio output of my computer instead of my voice input. It doesn't even read my voice input. I tried a different mic on my computer and it worked. I tried the messed up mic on my laptop and it worked. So I don't know why it isn't working on my desktop.

    DanT

Thank you for your inquiry. It sounds as if you have the microphone plugged into the output jack. Check for the microphone input.
