    This low-profile cardioid condenser boundary microphone is recommended for unobtrusive table-, ceiling-, or panel-mount applications in high-quality sound reinforcement, professional recording and teleconferencing. Designed for permanent installation, the microphone is equipped with a self-contained power module with an XLRM-type output connector, eliminating the need for an external power module. Protected by a rugged all-metal case with a two-layer steel mesh grille, the microphone has a cardioid pattern for enhanced gain before feedback and improved signal-to-noise ratio. It is available in two colors: black (ES947) and white (ES947W).

    If mounting in a wall or panel at approximately 6 feet off the floor, which way should the front of the mic be facing? North,South, East or West?

    Thank you for your inquiry. The element is actually laying flat. The on axis point is indicated by a dot on the ring of the microphone.

    Phantom Power If I'm using these with a mixer that is sending phantom power out to other condenser mics, is this going to negatively affect the operation of these mics e.g.,causing hum or buzzing or somehow damage the mic?

    The ES947 is also a condenser type microphone and requires phantom power to operate. A Mixer should be able to supply phantom power to multiple condenser microphones at the same time without any issues.

    Is the ES947 microphone compatible with the AT8474 to provide greater isolation?

    The AT8474 Mount will accomodate the ES947 Microphone, but the rubber isolators provided with the microphone provide better isolation, a better look, and are easier to work with.

    If ceiling mounting a ES947 in a space with 8 ft. ceilings, what distance in front of a seated speaker should the microphone be mounted?

    Thank you for your inquiry. That is hard to say. With the microphone 2 feet in front of the seated speaker, at that distance the pick up angle of the microphone will be just over 11 feet.

    If I were to use a right angle connector, what direction will it face with respect to the front of the mic? I need to use a right angle connector for clearance issues. The right angle connectors seem to be all oriented the same way. Does the right angle point away from the front of the mic?

    Thank you for your inquiry. The element of the microphone is aimed in the direction between pins 1 and 2 if that helps.
