  • Overview

Audio-Technica’s high-performance AE4100 cardioid dynamic vocal microphone delivers aggressive sound that stays up-front in the mix. Optimized for the stage, the microphone features superior anti-shock engineering for minimum handling noise. Its rugged construction is engineered to stand up to the rigors of touring. For ultimate protection against vocal plosives, the mic’s hardened-steel outer grille is lined with fine steel mesh and a layer of open-cell foam. A foam disk positioned on top of the element assembly provides the final layer of “pop” protection.

The male xlr connector on my 4100 broke. So i go to replace it and find only 2 wires coming from the mic, and they have continuity! Where is the shield wire and how do the TIP and RING wires have continuity??

How come such low sensitivity compared to the Beyerdynamic dynamics?

    George

Thank you for your inquiry. This is a very hard question to answer. Not every company utilize the same method of measurement. Also, if you are comparing to a condenser microphone, sensitivity will be much lower.

    AudioSolutionsManager

Output level is not good or bad: it comes from many parameters and optimizations. If you have a good preamp and you use the mic for singing, a medium output level is not a problem. It soul be a problem of you would plan to use it for classical music recording, but it isn't made for that!

Does this use rare earth magnets like the ATM61HE Or like the P635 does it use neo mags? I love those old mics

    Corky

Thank you for your inquiry. The AE4100 does use a neodymium magnet.

    AudioSolutionsManager

The accompanying literature with my ATM410 says Hi-Energy neodymium magnet. I love the true and smooth sound from my low alto through soprano.
