I bought this mic on a whim. I already have some Audio-Technica mics so I knew the quality was good. I received it and used it that night. I use it in my Yamaha Tyros keyboard as I sing backups in one band using the keyboards vocoder. The thing squealed and feedback like crazy so I went back to my stand mic. Once I got home I tried again. This time I spent a good deal of time EQing (a lot!) and got it dialed in just right...and it works very nicely. Goodbye to the mic stand and mic in my face...which was my original goal. Don't really care for it in my head but I wear it around my neck which works fine. Overall a nice mic and I would buy it again...BUT...one must spend some time getting it tweaked and EQed as it responds way different from a stand mic (SM58 style) and the small diaphragm must be right on axis with your mouth to get a decent sound without feedback.

I've had this michrophone for over ten years and it's in great shape and sounds great - still. Hope I can buy another in Canada when I need to.

I've used the PRO 8HEx fro about 8 years. It is very versitile. I went from gig to gig with 3 bands full time. Gigs every weekend. It was always the best sounding mic on stage.

I've owned two of these- the original still works, but looked worn, so I replaced it. I've tried headphone mics (and bought) more expensive, but keep coming back to the PRO 8HEx. I get compliments on clarity of vocals every gig. Very easy to keep in position, no feedback problems, even working within 5' of speakers. Before spending more money, try this great headset mic.

The PRO8HEx may work just fine without a phantom power supply needed for condenser microphones.
