Stay away from this if you have windows 10

    1

I spent a lot of money on this, and the quality has always been poor. Volume levels are very low even if you talk into the microphone at very close range. The only fix is to digitally up the volume with all the hiss and hum that this brings with it. It turns out it's a windows driver issue, and audio-technica have completely failed to provide a replacement driver. Quite frankly, I feel as though I've had my money stolen from me.

Stay away if you are using windows 10

    1

Was a great mic when I first bought it and used it with windows 8. After uppgrading to windows 10 the sound quality is really bad. It still "works" but the recorded volume is extremely low. If you raise the volume, the noise will get so high that the recording is trash. Many people have complained about this, but no action is made by Audio Technica or Microsoft.

Worked great on my laptop until I updated it from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Worked great while I could use it...

    I am impressed

First off, I am not a professional in this field. In fact this is the most expensive microphone that I have ever used. However that means I went into this blind and I have a pretty different perspective in this field. This prouduct was very easy to use. I just plugged it in and it worked. I use the microphone for some YouTube videos and it was very simple to use in every program. Just to test, I I tried it out in the windows camera app as well as some apps like skype and google hangouts. In those programs you're not really going to want to buy a mic this expensive and you may want to go for something cheaper. In the end this is an easy and good sounding mic that is a great choice if your just starting out.

Well, let me start by sharing... I owned a Music Store in the late 70s early 80s- We sold Audio Technica products even back then... I'm a Professional Musician, Producer, Multi-Instrumentalist... One has to step back from the instantaneous, social media- bash, dash, "hecto-confusing", gratification/confusion World we now live in... By stepping back... remember what you paid for this mic... It's well worth the admission , the set up ( plug and play), and the ever hanging ways to records music and voice. This , considering it's price, really checks all of the boxes... Enjoy your time, enjoy your music and enjoy LIFE :-) Thx AT- good Mic at this price point!!!

    Great Mic

This is one of the best usb mics on the market. I use this microphone to do voice overs and a twitch talk show. I love it, it's easy to use and has no static like the Bule yeti.

    Excellent on acoustic guitars!

    5

I've used this Microphone for three years now and love it! It makes recording my acoustic guitar fun and easy. I aim it at the 12 fret, about 10 inches away and its magic everytime! This microphone showed me that you dont need to spend $2K to get high quality!

    Taking back to shop

I bought this mic, plugged it in and had an afternoon of low-quality, low-level recording issues in Audacity, Ableton Live and then Adobe Audition. A quick lookup on the web revealed that there are a multitude of issues with nearly all USB powered mics since the release of Windows 10. I also note that the mic has been discontinued (without explanation) by audo-technica.

Best Mic for USB radio production on the road!

    5

This is a great product. I have a daily radio program and this mic is my favorite usb mic. I was using various Blue usb mics and had loads of white noise. None with the AT2020. No need for bulky secondary mixing gear. I replaced the small travel stand with a drum kick mic stand, which works great. I bought an after market foam pop filter. My sound quality rivals what I get on the radio studio pro E.V. voice mics. I also have the xlr version which had to have a mixer. When I travel I use the small stand or take my desk mic stand in two pieces. I do the initial edits in sound studio, an elegant little program that does effective linear editing, then I drop my edits into Logic X. I can get an amazing warm sound with no ad ons! There is no latency in the earphone jack as well.

I'm wanting to use this microphone to increase the audio quality of my stream and I was wondering if it comes with an "arm" an adjustable one. If not any recommendations that would fit its size?

    Dalton

The AT2035 does not include any stand. You may connect the microphone to a standard 5/8-27" threaded microphone stand.

    ATUS_Specialist3

What type of mic. cable do I need if I have the focusrite scarlett solo?

    Duddy

The AT2035 is a condenser microphone and to connect to an audio interface, you will need a standard XLR cable from the microphone and into the interface. Also, your interface will need to have +48v of phantom power engaged. blog.audio-technica.com/audio-solutions-question-week-phantom-power-need/

Do these work well as choir mics?

    Paul

Yes, the AT2035 are often chosen for recording groups such as choir or orchestras.

    ATUS_Specialist3

I use Tyros4 Arranger Keyboard for recording my songs. Is the AT-2035 compatible with my keyboard if I use a power supply for the mic? What power supply can you recommend? I am using a Shure SM58 dynamic mic now but would like a cleaner sound. Thanks!

    Mike

The other brand microphone you listed is a dynamic microphone and the AT2035, being a condenser will require phantom power to operate. Please contact our Audio Solutions Department at (330) 686-2600 ext 5000 or at audio-solutions@atus.com for assistance with this.

I am looking for a "do-it-all" mic to use for all of the above: Video conferencing, Voice-Overs on pre-recorded presentations, Studio recording of strong female vocal, if possible: decent recording of a college A'Capella group. Plan to use with a Yamaha MG series mixer and pc. Please recommend a different mic in your line up if you think there is a better fit. Thank you!

    Eric

Yes, the AT2035 is a popular choice for all application you listed. You may also want to look at a multi pattern microphone such as the AT2050 which may be used in cardioid, omnidirectional, or bi-directional setups. Please contact our Audio Solutions Department at (330) 686-2600 ext 5000 or at audio-solutions@atus.com for additional assistance with this.

Does a preamp help this mic sound better? by a noticeable amount?

    gotemcoach

A microphone preamp is needed for ALL microphones as they take a low MIC level signal and properly boost up to a higher LINE level output.
