    Excellent on acoustic guitars!

I've used this Microphone for three years now and love it! It makes recording my acoustic guitar fun and easy. I aim it at the 12 fret, about 10 inches away and its magic everytime! This microphone showed me that you dont need to spend $2K to get high quality!

Great mic!! Nothing better under $200......

I use this mic in a home recording studio for Rap & RnB.... Good clean sound...the 10 db pad helps to pull out alot of the background noise and the 80hz low end filter pullout the hum and rumble noise. Makes for less work in post production. Im sure there are higher end mics out there with better sound quality but they probably cost alot more.... In the $200 range this is def A-1.

    Bargain with advanced features

This is a step up from the AT2020 ... comes with a shockmount (that you have to use, since its the only mic mount that is delivered with threads), a rolloff switch and a 10db pad. The shockmount is snug enough to allow many positions for the side address mic and the LC capsule is very good for the bargain price.

The Best Mic for it's Price!

I'm a rapper and producer from Malaysia. Previously I was using the M-Audio Nova condenser mic. I wouldn't say that It was bad but I wasn't satisfied with the quality I got from it. So when i decided to change to another mic, I came across the AT2035 and purchased it. I must say I was more than amazed! Such quality and clarity! If you're really familiar with EQ's and compression, there's no doubt that you can get the sound want from the AT2035. I'm more than satisfied! Amazing mic! Amazing price! I'll do another review post soon with link to the video of my song recorded through AT2035. Till then, great job Audio-Technica! Wonderful product!

    Excellent value!!!

I have used many studio mics over the years and never come across a mic that costs so little and sounds so great! I have A-B'd it against my TLM-103 and much prefer the sound of the AT-2035 to the Neumann. Considering I purchased three of them for less than a third the cost of one TLM-103, I am thoroughly satisfied!!! You won't find a better deal.

Of Highest Quality at A Great Price

About a year ago, while researching equipment for setting up my first small, home-recording studio, I settled on the AT2035, and this was simply because it provided the virtual flat, truly accurate response I was hoping to record, especially when attempting to capture the wonderful sound of my 1938 Gibson L00. Since I purchased two (for stereo recording), and since I've just now started using them, I've never been more satisfied with the professional quality of their construction as well as in their ease of use, especially when I add any other instrument (including voice# to the mix. If anyone was trying to do the same as me #especially with a limited budget), I know they would be fully content with the performance of the AT2035 - they are worth every penny.

I am only getting mono out of the at2035, I cannot get it to record in stereo. How can I change this?

As the AT2035 is a mono microphone, you will bus your signal to a stereo output channel for your stereo distribution.

How do I record multiple people with just 1 of these mics for a podcast and get them to sound the same. Now each person on each side of the mic sounds differently.

As the AT2035 microphone has a directional cardioid pickup pattern, if you have people speaking into different sides of the microphone, the pickup will be different and not designed to be used as such. If you would like even pickup from 360 degrees around the microphone, you are looking for an omnidirectional pickup from a microphone. An example is the AT2050 microphone which has three selectable pickup patterns, one of them being omni.

I bought this mic and a stand for my daughter thinking she could use it right out of the box. I now understand it requires a phantom power source. She just wants to record in her room without a computer. What is the best device I could buy to power the microphone so she can use it?

As the AT2020 is a condenser microphone and requires phantom power, an inline audio interface would be a better setup as the XLR to USB cables will not provide the necessary voltage to the microphone. You may use an inline audio interface such as the MXL MicMate PRO which will both convert the analog signal from the microphone to digital into the computer as well as provide the necessary power to the microphone.

can i use the mic for choir live performances

    Yes you may.

So I purchased the audio technic at2035 mics for a podcast and seems I am getting a lot of room noise. I have flipped the -10db switch to reduce some of the sound and also turned on the flat line switch as well. I have even turned my compression down on the mixer. How do I make the mic work more unidirectional and not so sensitive to room noise ??

What kind of adjustable mic arm can I use for this mic? I can't seem to find one.

You may use any standard microphone stand to attache the included AT8458 shock mount to. You may also look at the AT2035PK which includes the AT2035 microphone, the ATH-M20x headphones, and a boom arm microphone stand.

Is there any way, through any audio interface, that I can connect this to a usb source?

Is the protective pouch made with real leather?

    No it is not.

What accessories come with the microphone?

Thank you for your inquiry. AT8458 shock mount for 5/8"-27 threaded stands; 5/8"-27 to 3/8"-16 threaded adapter; soft protective pouch.

Is possible to use this mic with an iPad Pro is it is connected with a USB adapter

Thank you for your inquiry. No, this microphone requires an XLR connection and phantom power.
